He seemed genuinely concerned (and unaware) that I was having an issue. He expressed his apologies and asked quite simply "what can I do?" Don't know about any of you but for me that was a first. A CEO rarely gets in the weeds to that degree so the conversation made me BEGIN to reconsider my feelings on Paylocity. But - I was still leary. Immediately after our conversation people with Paylocity were coming out of the woodwork to help. It was amazing. Up to that point I had been dealing solely with my Representative (Jennifer Rosen who is awesome) but all of the sudden I was assigned a team of people to define the problem and make the corrections. EXACTLY what Steve committed to do. Gotta say I was (and am) impressed. Although I do not beleive it should take a conversation with the CEO to make things happen (and I seriously doubt it ever will again:) I am happy with the result. It's never the mistake (if you're not making mistakes you aren't working) but how you fix it. I beleive that is the culture Steve is building at Paylocity and as long as that continues I will remain their biggest fan. I have been in HR for over 25 years. I've worked with Peoplesoft, ADP, Ceridian and other smaller off the rack systems. Paylocity is by far the best system I've ever worked with.

Update to Earlier Post:

I must say I was shocked when Steve called me within minutes of my original post. I switched from ADP to Paylocity in April of 2011 (way after all the bugs were worked out - right?) The system is great - easy to use, etc. but the tax department is CLUELESS. Since our implementation we have had ongoing issues with taxes in EVERY state we do business with and I found out (through the affected employee) last week that his W2 is wrong!! Oops! Says Paylocity. The data transfer didn't work correctly during implementation. They discovered the issue last year - corrected it and BAM! the correction made it worse (all unbeknowst to me) Well ... Paylocity corrects the W2, I forward it to the employee and THE WRONG ADDRESS IS LISTED FOR THE EMPLOYEE. I mean - not even the right state. So - I now have 45 employees whose W2's are incorrect. Paylocity isn't sure yet. All that being said - ADP may not be the best at everything but they ARE the best at what matters most - getting your employees paid correctly and recording and reporting taxes correctly and on time. And by the way - not ONE of the higher ups has contacted me. Guess Steve is too busy blogging. I'll be submitting my termination letter this week.

I am a current customer of Paylocity. If the head of the company does it, I bet all the employees look up other peoples' information. It was my intent to help you, not embarass you. It is not our general policy at Paylocity to work directly with individual employee users. Your HR Administrator is our actual customer and we do not want to interfere with their relationship with their employees. I contacted your HR Admin promptly after your post to attempt to solve your issue and to ensure that this was not an issue with anyone else at your company. I also should mention, since you have implied that we have a systemic issue, that we have hundreds of thousands of employee users, including over 400 employees at Paylocity alone, who are successfully accessing our system.I also sent you the following e-mail directly after talking to your administrator:You had posted the following comment:Hi Steve Sarowitz,I have had nothing but problems with Paylocity. My employer uses it, and I can rarely access it without problems. I set up my password with my HR admin present, it doesn't work the next time I access the site. Request password reset? Good luck getting an email link. I am switching back to paper checks, the trouble I have accessing my pay info is just too much. I have had to visit the HR admin far too often to deal with your site's issues, it's just not worth it to me. Here to read the replied comment directly: http://mansurovs.com/tech/why-adp-payforce-sucks-again#comment-13579I am sorry that you have found our system frustrating to use. While I understand your frustration at our security, our #1 priority is to keep your data secure. As long as you are able to remember your user name and password going forward, our system will remain easily accessible to you.I followed up with Terry Hayden, who manages your company’s payroll, and walked him through resetting the challenge questions that you had originally set up. He unlocked your user account as well. If you like, Terry can also reset your password for you if you are having issues with doing it yourself.Happy Holidays,Steve Sarowitz Founder and Chairman Paylocity

John, I am sorry that you feel that way.
