Honestly, I don’t know what this is, but it sure looks like some sort of crab. I captured this bad boy at the Channel Islands National Park during my last trip. Any ideas on what type of crab it is? I tried to search on Google and couldn’t find a darn thing…
P.S. It turns out to be “Sally Lightfoot”. Thanks to Rich for identifying the crab!

I like the light in the claw.
Morten: I wish there was no shadow on the left side though. He was moving so fast into the shadow that I didn’t have enough time to take a good shot :)
this crabby is sooo funny though!!!
it looks yummy too ;)
uuuuww, I wouldn’t cook this sweetheart!!! :)
Just in case you’ve not already I.D.’d this crab it appears to be a “Sally Lightfoot” crab AKA Grapsus grapsus.

Rich, thank you so much for I.D.ing the crab! Sally Lightfoot sounds very cute :)
Sorry I don’t know what type of crabe this is. Were you actually this close to the crab? From my personal experience, they normally don’t allow you to get this close to them.
