Just wanted to give a quick update on what I have been working on lately. I apologize for not being able to update the website – I was the last person in the family to get the flu virus and I have been very sick for about four days now.
Anyway, here are some things that I’m currently working on:
- A new site Gallery with the following sections: Animals, Birds, Nature, People and Other
- An article on how to choose and buy a tripod
- An article on HDR photography
- An article on stitching panoramas

Выздоравливайте!
P.S. птичка клевая
Спасибо, постараемся :)
Ну как там планы приехать к нам в гости в этом году?
Hi Nasim
Sorry to hear you are ill – wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you get well soon!
Love your Meadow Lark – care to share the tech details?
Best, P
Pasquier, thank you for your kind words, I’m already feeling a little better :)
By the way, do you have an EXIF viewer? All of the technical details on my pictures are embedded as EXIF data and I almost never remove it to make it easier for my readers to see the settings I used in my camera.
If you have Firefox browser, check out the EXIF viewer addon – it is free and very easy to use.
I photographed the bird from the car window, hand-held at f/5.6, 1/1000s, ISO 560 (Auto ISO). No post-processing was performed on the image, just slight crop to make the bird centered.
Have a great day!
Hi Nasim, I did check the Exif data, but it isn’t clear which lens you used.
I’m guessing either a Nikkor 200-400 (with converter) or longer….
Thanks, P.
Pasquier, you are right, it was the Nikon 200-400mm f/4 + 1.4x TC on D3s :)
That sounds like a dream combination…. have to start saving.
Am thoroughly enjoying the new 16-35 mm. Also replaced our old 80-200 mm with the new 70-200 mm AFS VRII, which is an amazing lens.
I typically take that setup for me when I shoot from the car, but for hiking, it is pretty much strictly Nikon 300mm f/4 AF-S.
Hope you feel better soon… Spring flu is the worst!
Deana, thank you! I agree, this flu is probably the worst I’ve had in many years…
Sorry about the flu, that is no fun. Get well and get back outside and shoot.
Tom, sounds good. We should get together for some birding and to photograph the fox with kits you were talking about a few weeks ago…
This bird seems to be waiting for your shot.
Interesting articles on HDR and panoramas. Looking forward to it. Even more on the tripod section, coz I badly need one.
Great day!
Dennis, yes, the tripod article is coming first. It is taking me a while though, because I want to cover everything…
