Is up-dating from a D2x to D3s worth the price. I shoot fine art, landscapes, and portraits. Can’t find D3x so that’s not an option plus they have now gone up to there original price of $8,000 if you can find one.

Ralph, it depends on the size of prints you want to do. If you need extremely large prints for wall-sized pictures, then you need a camera with more resolution. Otherwise, the D3s is more than sufficient, especially for magazine-size prints. I printed out 20×30 prints from my D3s and I love the print quality…

On the other hand, Nikon will be releasing a Nikon D4 with more pixels early 2011.

Is the Nikon D3s a good camera for print work? Magazines, prints for sale, etc? Or is 12 mp too small for printing out and selling prints? Weddings, etc?

Thanks.

Or should I wait for a D4s or replacement camera with a larger resolution sensor?

В принципе, недорогих профессиональных камер не бывает, но есть полупрофессиональные камеры, которые можно купить за $500-$1000, в зависимости от модели.

Я бы посоветовал Nikon D5000 или D90 с хорошей линзой.
