Which lens you used for it ??
cool picture
Abhinav, thank you for your feedback! For most of my landscape photography, I use the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.
thanks a lot :) .Well ,Currently I have D40 and planning to upgrade to either D90 or D300s (I will love to add D700 ,but its doesn’t seem soo :|) .Plus I wanna get all purpose lens thats fast ,sharp and wide .(not 18-200mm )
Currently ,I have 10-24mm + old 24-85mm f2.8-4D (doesn’t auto focus on my D40 ,but manual focus doesn’t bother me much ) + 70-300mm .
I always felt that anything below 16mm(we can say 24mm on 35mm film ) is useless for landscape (things become too small ).
now my question is should I get Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 VC or Nikon 17-55m f2.8 .I can get Tamron in a weeks time ,but will have to wait for while to get Nikon (bit expensive )
I felt Nikon is due for an upgrade and doesn’t have VR either(leaving aside its pro body thing ) or due to think getting nikon 17-55mm will worth or maybe nikon release an upgrade version of it soon .
Will love to know your opinion on this :)
Abhinav,
I personally would neither get the Tamron nor the Nikon 17-55mm, but rather the 14-24mm f/2.8G. It is one of the sharpest Nikon lenses ever and it is superb for landscape photography. The only problem with it is that it cannot hold any filters, but I believe there are some solutions and workarounds out there by now. If you really want to use filters, then get the Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 lens instead.
The 17-55mm lens is excellent, but it is DX and if you happen to buy a Nikon full-frame body in the future, you will not be able to use it…
