Haven’t had much time to work on the pics from the last trip to Great Sand Dunes NP, but I’m slowly getting there :) If everything works out, I’ll visit Death Valley next week and come back with some pics and perhaps even post images from both Sand Dunes and Death Valley at the same time.

Love your shot of the tree, I live just miles from the Great Sand Dunes…I have taken many shots of the dunes, including this very tree, with and without snow. I am an aspiring photographer, having had many shots published in farming magazine, called The Fencepost. I appreciate all the information you have taken time to post, it is helpful, as I usually shoot in auto for my landscape and wildlife photography, but dabble in portraits and am expanding now to more technical shooting.
