It´s the myth surrounding the brand. Working with a Nikon you feel a certain connection with all those legends that documented the world with a Nikon F. Other camera makera also make decent cameras, if a camera is just a “tool” for you, but a Nikon…is a Nikon.
I love my Nikon camera because… it’s not a Canon!
Hi,
What a great giveaway! I’ve been contemplating buying a prime lens for some time, so I would be really interested in winning one.
I love my D80, which I use on a daily bases (for my 365-project). I find it so easy to use, even the more advanced features. It just all makes sense. Plus the Nikon hardware feels so much more ridged than the competition’s. Last-but-not-least: Nikon people are nice people! I participate in a number of Nikon groups on Flickr and the people there are incredibly nice, helpful and willing to share their knowledge.
I can’t imagine switching to any other brand (specially not if I win this great piece of Nikon equipment!).
Regards, Pascal
My Nikon camera is an extension of my mind, sitting just behind the part of my brain used for long-term memory, near my optical nerve and attached to the area that sends my body signals of great pleasure.
comparing with other camera results, i’m 100% sure that Nikon has amazing color, stong building and superb quality.
I love my trusty Nikon,
It goes wherever I go,
It gives me great results,
In lights both bright and low.
It’s been dropped & knocked & battered,
Shot fireworks in freezing rain,
Every-time that shutter clicks,
It gives me pleasure without pain.
Oh keep your dusty cannon,
Four-Fifth’s isn’t for me.
It’s Nikon mounts for Sigma lens,
I’m sure that you’ll agree.
Oh I love my D200,
This camera I adore,
But Nikon, one quick question,
When can I buy a new D4?
Mark, please see this post, select a book of choice and send me your address.
Congratulations!
Hi there,
I love nikon simply because of the pride to use the same camera used by professionals all over the world…
Well, my Nikon cam is simply comfortable, versatile and reliable. Thats all I need.
I love my Nikon gear because it’s part of a whole well-thought environment, with smart technologies such as Creative Lighting System and long time lens compatibility. And also because I have never find better quality for the price ;-)
Nikon cameras makes me want to take better photos every time, it change the way I take photographs, it changed my life. I love it!

Hahaha! I can’t compete with Mark’s poem, that’s awesome!
I love my Nikon D70 and more recently my D700. I previously had never been brand loyal, having a Canon AE-1, Canon A-1, Pentax K1000, Pentax Super Program with motor drive (LOVED this camera!), Pentax SF-10, and Minolta 7000. When I went digital I settled on a Nikon D70 because Minolta and Pentax weren’t making anything good at the time, Canon still did not support auto ISO, and I was very intrigued with Nikon’s wireless CLS flash system. I had a lot of respect for Nikon having borrowed an N90s and F4s with MB-21 grip in college for an outdoor project; I really liked Nikon’s matrix metering and TTL flash, especially in multi-flash scenarios. This was my first experience ditching the studio lights and going with multiple speedlights instead–much more flexible for outdoor, portable work. The SB-28 flash and N90s in particular was an incredible combination with FP high speed sync, automatic power zoom, and 3D multi-sensor balanced fill-flash.
I waited quite a while to jump on the digital bandwagon, and when the Nikon D70 came out it was affordable enough with acceptable image quality for me to finally switch. I got an SB-800 flash at the same time and took over 20,000 images with that camera. This year I decided to move from DX format to FX, and with the release of the D700 Nikon proved I had made a good decision when I chose their brand. The D700 (with MB-D10 grip, EN-EL4a battery, SB-900 flash, and 24-70mm f/2.8 lens) continues to amaze me with its image quality, exposure latitude, clean high ISOs, incredible speed, dead-on focusing, pretty accurate auto white balance, and flexible wireless flash system. The ergonomics and button layout is the best of any camera I’ve used (I have not tried the D3 series yet), letting me think about the composition and timing of a photo and not needing to think about settings, dials, and buttons. This is the most natural camera I’ve used since my Yashica Mat-124 G (which I still have and use!).
However, I must add, either I’m getting older or this stuff is getting heavier, because I don’t remember the F4s with a grip and flash being quite so fatiguing! The D70′s weight must have spoiled me. Having tried a number of solutions, I found a Cotton Carrier hand strap and a Black Rapid RS-7 R-Strap keep it manageable on an all-day photo shoot without my fingers going numb. :-)
I love my Nikon D80 because it just works — smoothly, reliably, and without any fuss. It’s a camera that gets out of the way so I can focus on making images. And built in CLS is just awesome!
Im a beginner and own a D3000 and only have the lens that came with it, which is the 18-55mm lens.
So a 50mm/f1.4 lens has been catching my eye for a while now.
My Nikon made me realise a true passion within me.. Something I know I can grow even more over time.
The Nikon community also just impresses me with their passion, creativity, skills and generosity with knowledge. It is so easy to learn about my camera and its capabilities online, as there are so many people willing to share their experiences.
I’ve joined Nikon groups on Flickr and some of the best photographers in my opinion, own Nikon cameras. I have found that those with a genuine passion for photography and those who are pedantic about their equipment, are Nikon users and this makes me even more proud to have one.
It means I have a good quality product.
And of course, I love my Nikon even more, knowing that the Mansurovs use it :)
You guys are absolutely brilliant photographers… you inspire me regularly.
Love Nikon because is the best on the market.
I love my D90. When I realized that what I was seeing wasn’t matching my results with my Canon point & shoot, I looked around for the next thing. With my D90 in my hands, I am so much closer to displaying on the produced image what I see in my mind. Nikon allows me to realize my vision.
(sorry for my English, I am a French amateur photographer but I’ll do my best)
I started taking pictures 8 years ago, at this time I used a Nikon D70.
When I bought this “little” camera, the vendor handed me a Canon and a Nikon : I took the Canon in my hand, it was ok. When I took the Nikon I felt much more comfortable with it, it was built for my hands !
Two year ago I bought a D700, and boy, what a camera ! I have never been disappointed by this jewel.
I mainly do street photography (see website).
I always have my camera with me. Each time I go for a walk I sit somewhere and observe : hands, feet, faces, people. Then I close my eyes and try to feel the mood of the place where I am.
Then I take my camera out and start shooting, the sound of the shutter have an euphoric effect on me and I can’t stop looking my world through my camera. As if it is part of me, some kind of extension of my mind, of my eyes & my entire body. I am the camera (this could go with their new ad campaign : I am a Nikon)
Most people tell me that I have a big smile when I take pictures, It makes me happy : This is my drug and I am glad I’ve found it.
In some rare cases when I can’t have my camera with me, I feel naked. Strange feeling indeed.
I always end up looking at things & people as if I had my camera and thinking of how the scene would look on my screen and what settings I should have used.
So yes I can say that I love my Nikon D700 & I love it all the more that it serves me well.
I love my Nikon D5000, even though it is a beginner camera is has been a huge step up for me and everytime I need it to do something more it responds. I’m looking forward to getting more lenses and more opportunities to improve my photography!
I love my Nikon because: The moments of sadness and happiness shared with my Nikon have allowed me to remember what time forgets
I wouldn’t buy a Nikon because I’ve invested too much into Canon lenses. Maybe this could start a change though.
I love my Nikon because with the cheapest of the DSLR line (the D40) I can still use my 105mm 1.8 AIS lens made in 1982, and can use all lenses made since 1977 and lenses made prior that that have an AI conversion.
I do have to be my own light meter, but with an LCD that isn’t much of a problem.
My very first camera was a Canon AE-1 Program. I continued shooting Canon cameras throughout my film years until the release of the Nikon Pronea 6i. It was one of Nikon’s few Advantix SLRs. Ritz was practically giving them away at the time to make room for newer models.
The very first thing I noticed was how good it felt in my hand. I could tell that Nikon put some serious work into the ergonomics of the camera. Over the next couple of years I began investing in 35mm Nikon bodies and lenses.
By the time I moved to digital I owned about as many Nikon bodies as I did Canon. In the end I decided to sell all of my Canon gear and go all in with Nikon. It wasn’t because I felt Nikon was technically superior to Canon or that their products would magically make me a better photographer. It was the little tweaks that made shooting that much more pleasant…how the camera felt in my hand, button placement, fairly easy to use menu systems, etc. Both Nikon & Canon produce fantastic cameras, but I get the impression that Nikon engineers spend a good amount of time outside of the lab actually practicing photography. That is why I love my Nikon cameras & lenses!
Indeed very nice poem!
Why I had not chosen a Nikon…
Because when I started with my Canon DSLR, I just had used a point and shoot camera before and several more or less experienced friends had Canon already. So I chose Canon to learn from the more experienced and learn with the other beginners together. It’s much more fun and we can share equipment! Aside from that one have to chose a brand and I wanted to start right away, so these were good reasons to me. Although I liked the idea of limited auto ISO when I heard that Nikon features it, I’m absolutely satisfied with my Canon DSLR!
Why I participate here?
Well, I wanted to tell my reasons to not use a Nikon and Nasim asked for that too.
If I would win I would give the lens to one of my rare friends using Nikon DSLR.
And never forget: It’s not the camera taking the really good pictures… it’s the photographer!!!
My first camera was a minolta X 700 and then I moved on to Canon Elan 7 (film) and later, 2 Canon DSLRs along with numerous canon point and shoot models along the way. The Canon models have all been great and we (my wife and I) were always pleased with them. In fact, when I bought the first Nikon, my wife was not pleased to say the least. I bought a Nikon D300 and I have loved it, no regrets, so now have a D3s. Wow, great camera.
Until I bought the Nikon, I relied heavily on the Canon control presets dial for scene selection. I bought the Nikon and immediately, my photography started to improve because I took a more active involvement in settings selection. I have learned much more as I have tried to choose the right setting for the particular scene/shot. This has given me more control than I had utilized in the past. Of course, with the Canon, I could have used the manual settings or aperture priority, etc. but with the “dummy” dial, I was more prone to not think as much, I was more lazy. I got good shots with the Canon, but with the Nikon, my results have gone up a notch or two or three.
As for camera controls, I love the Nikon, they are where I need them, in the Canon, too many of the settings were in a menu in which I had to go looking for the settings. With the Nikon, the controls are more readily accessible for me to change them. If the environment that I am shooting in requires me to change a setting, I can get it done faster on my Nikon than on the Canons. The best analogy I can give is that on a computer, a mouse is easy to use, but commands are much more efficient. Again, I am not trying to beat up on Canon, they are great products and I loved them. I am just trying to point out differences in my experiences.
I love the focus and tracking abilities of the Nikon, I can set it for continuous focus and it will track a bird or animal as it moves and does it well. The focus is accurate and fast. The exposure adjustment controls are easy to reach and make on the fly adjustments as needed and the screen is huge and clear and makes in the field evaluations much easier.
The low noise photos I get from the D3s are incredible, it is the low noise King and at 10 frames per second, I can catch the perfect moment in wildlife.
Pick up a Nikon and you will feel it is solid. I never noticed that before but now when I pick up a canon, it is usually lighter than a Nikon counterpart.
Nikon has great optics and the lenses are great, not cheap but great. I enjoy wildlife photography and the Nikon 200-400/4 is a phenomenal lens. I know multiple Canon professional photogs that really drool over that lens. In fact, 2 weeks ago, I was in Alaska taking photos of bears and two different professional photographers (one that works for Nat. Geo.) that shoot canon said, they really, really want the Nikon 200-400 lens. One said, she wanted it so much that she almost switched to Nikon for that lens alone. She still craves it. Those who have large investments in glass know that a switch from one brand to another is a huge expense and so it isn’t done often.
While I like features of competing products and they are good products, overall, Nikon just gives me more of what I want – fast, accurate, sturdy, reliable and excellent ergonomics. That is why I choose Nikon.
Wow, what a great promotion, thanks for sharing the opportunity.
I love my Nikon (D90) because it allows me to stop moments in time as I watch my family grow.
Troy
I love my Nikon because…
…Nikon means photography, and photography it’s my life
I LOVE my NIKON D90 because it is my first ever DSLR camera and plus because it was a gift from hubby! I’ve always loved taking picture and my D90 has helped me enhanced my skill and ability from behind the lens. And also, I couldn’t complain the outcome! With or without post processing, the results are always great!
I selected Nikon D90 (along with 18-200 DX VRII )as my first DSLR two months ago by reading the articles in the Mansurovs (thank you so much for the recommendations), I love it so much simply because it is smarter than me!!! it helps me take right photos by optimizing the rest of the settings after I select my own preferred exposure speed or aperture (or just select P or Auto mode when I encounter difficulty to decide). I love it even more after I took it in my first trip to Tibet….with the amazing GPS GP-1. The Nikon provides this simple solution to users who want to track where the photos are taken, this is not the case for Canon camera. You will be amazed after you find how the GPS works together with iphoto and Picasa web album, the camera and the GP-1 makes your travel or vacation more interesting and the photos more memorable.
I love Nikon.
Nice idea for a contest. I love my D80 because it has taught me so much about photography. It was my first Dslr and has been there from the beginning. Stage one, just happy not to have shutter delay (this is the main reason to getting a d80 for me). Then, through the miracle of the internet, I studied more about photography. Along the way d80 has been there as I learned what all of the other controls were. First a dabble in aperture priority, maybe a turn in shutter priority. In the end, I often now use manual mode for flash pics and bracketing for hdr shots. I never really thought about how far I had come until I started helping friends learning to shoot. It was like I wasn’t speaking a language they understood, but I’ll teach them. Now I’m very glad to have started the adventure. Maybe I can someday get a D700, :-). Anyway, great site, it reminds me of all the good lessons I discovered over the years.
I love my Nikon D90 because it is a great camera! Because of it’s capabilities, it does not limit me to what I want to capture.
That’s a great give away! That’s the prime lens that’s been in wishlist!
I love my Nikon because (based on experience and readings from reviews) they’ve always developed viable and trusty lens and cameras.
That’s just one of the reason why i love my D90. :)
Why I love my Nikon Camera? Because it has helped me capture moments in my life that I would have never been able to capture with my disposable camera that I used when I was a kid. It has also made me see things differently and it still amazes me how a picture can give you mixed emotions and make you feel as if you were there taking that picture even though it is another photographers picture.
About 20 years ago my father had given me a disposable camera and within my first snap, I knew I wanted to get into photography. I started using film cameras, then the Sony digital cameras that uses floppy disks to record pictures. It would be a big hassle because I would have to carry a 20 pack of floppy disks to capture pictures during my uncle’s wedding. As the years progressed, I’ve have been through a lot of cameras, but nothing is compared to my Nikon D90. It turns photographs into reality.
I am still learning and practicing everyday so I can captures memories during my brother’s wedding next month and this time, I won’t need to switch floppy disks after every 20 pictures. Memories are worth more than anything to me, and that is why I love my Nikon Camera.
I love my Nikon because it’s opened up a whole new world for me. As a graphic designer, I learned how to edit photos to make them look better. But since purchasing my Nikon DSLR (D60, I plan to upgrade someday) my photos straight out of the camera are getting better and better – requiring less editing on my part.
I have made it a priority to learn more about photography, and have done well in just the past year that I’ve owned my D60. I have actually had my eye on this lens for a little while now… but didn’t purchase it since it wouldn’t autofocus on my particular camera. However, it wouldn’t hurt to learn to manually focus and it would still work great for me in the future when I get a more advanced camera.
I Love my Nikon because it is intuitive, versatile, comfortable, and most of all because I get great photos out of it!
I love Nikon because they put thought into their camera and lens design. An example would be the tripod collar for the 70-200mm f2.8 lens, you don’t need to remove the lens to get the camera off the tripod!
I also enjoy the ergonomics of their body and their ability to go against the “MP wars” and focus on more important features, such as higher ISO performance.
I am considering a new camera, switching from Olympus, but right now I have no glass for either Nikon or Canon and winning this would be the deciding factor for me.
Nikon; what better way to capture the world!
Why do I love my Nikon? Because it feels like an extension of me as a photographer, and not a creation of the marketing department. It is durable, without being bulky. It is intuitive without losing the power to create and play.
That’s why I love my Nikon.
Nikon has been using the “Nikon F Mount” for the their SLR bodies and lenses.
This means I can use a variety of lenses that Nikon makes for all my Nikon SLR bodies! That’s why I LOVE my NIKON.
I love my Nikon because its image quality is excellent. :)
Steadfast & True, the loyal Nikon-
My Nikon is ready when I am, jumping at the chance to capture the singular moment,
Blending into my hands, like the perfect apple, just the right weight, shape, and control,
When I think “Look!”, it responds without pause to the virtually unconscious decision
of my seeing eye.
Simply put, it responds rapidly, dutifully and most important, it always performs beautifully!
{Inspired by my love of my steadfast F3 and the true to Nikon tradition D3}

I love my Nikon for many reasons. I had always been the person taking pictures… always. I also always wanted an SLR camera, but could never afford one being a single mother. I remarried in 2008 and my husband bought me a Nikon for my birthday. It was MINE alone. Now I’m taking classes & learning more about how to take beautiful photos. I love my Nikon… and my husband!!
My very first DSLR was nikon D300 and i fall in love with it right away. Still learning all the features, but that is some of the fun. Images from it are great.
Honestly, you were my inspiration, I loved to stare at your photos and found passion for digital photography. After a thorough research I chose Nikon and I’m glad I did. Comparing to Canon, Nikon makes superb quality exposures; it’s very convenient and quality made, simply fantastic camera!
I don’t shoot just photos with my DSLR, I am making family memories for years to come. I don’t consider my camera as a purchase, It’s a great investment and my best friend IMHO.
I’d love to win 50 mm 1.4G, because it’s awesome for low-light conditions and especially for portrait photography.
Thank you!
It takes great photos even from a newbee. It combines state of the art technology and manual preference…..
It takes great pictures even from a newbee. It combines state of the art technology and manual preference…
I love my Nikon camera because it translates beautifully into photos the image that I see with my eyes and conceptualize in my mind with such clarity, true-to-life colour, ease, and speed. I love how it has helped me capture magical moments with my children, immortalizing those memories in tangible form.
Plain an simple… Its easy to use and can help me produce the photos that I need/want. Plus they have some of the best low light cameras out there! And as far as I am concerned all the important controls are available where I need them and not buried in the menu.
I love my D90 because it works so well I don’t have to think when using it :P
I love my Nikon because like a good friend, it never, ever let me down…
I love my Nikon because it is powerful, versatile, user friendly and takes great pictures!!
A Nikon camera exudes pure emotion. The feel of one in your hands gives you the pride and confidence in each and every shot. The refined, purposefully built and designed look of the cameras conjures up the impression of a F1 racecar. And the performance, just plain legendary. You can always rely on the equipment, only human error can ever be faulted. Always on the cutting edge and always beautiful.
Nikon is the only D-SLR I will ever consider, have ever considered.
Well, I tried many cameras before buying my first DSLR, I liked Nikon most. Now as I got D90, I just enjoy shooting. And the feeling of how it sits in my hand just natural.
My Nikon D80, and other Nikons, have helped me make a record of the lives of my sons and, later, their children. they make fun of grandpa and his Nikon, but I think they enjoy seeing themselves and recalling the memories. We had a reunion of the families that have lived on our street over the last forty years, I was able to put together a slideshow of the neighborhood kids. A pleasant and nostalgic time remembering our past through old pictures.
Nikon is great. In so short a time, it made my wife take incredible pictures. Now, she’s THE go to person for those getting new SLRs. Of course, she had browsed through Mansurovs, but I think the D90 made it easier, or should I say, efficient for her. I am the engineer and she’s the nurse, but the way her Nikon guided her through the ISO, shutter and speed (aperture), she was able to see these through how a medical professional sees, our EYES, dilation of the pupil, and all – I can’t believe I will be learning from her!!!
I recently found a box, tucked away where nobody cared… in that box were albums, they tell a story, my story, one you might also relate to. I grew up in a house full of life, lots of siblings, trips to the Zoo, music lessons, dance lessons, art lessons, badminton training, picnics in the park, showbags, rides, swap meets and travel across the country. However when I turned 10, things changed… my parents split, I didn’t know why at the time, but thought it would at least stop the arguing. That’s okay, it happens.
Since that day… the stories in the albums have stopped. My life went on though… I’ve played in Jazz and concert bands, painted murals, represented my state in Badminton, survived my college entrance exams, served at a bar, worked as a chef, got baptized, graduated from college, found a great job, travelled to distant countries, presented at conferences, and met the girl of my dreams. That life, as colourful as my childhood, exists in my memories.
Which is great, only that I’ve learnt a thing or two about memories… they fade. Your recollection of the past loses vibrancy and the details are fleeting. You meet someone from school you once new but you don’t say hello because their name escapes you or you think they might not remember you. One day my kids will ask me about my life, but I’ll only be able to describe it to them as I have to you.
One year ago I got my first camera, a Nikon D90. Using that I’ve been able to capture everything in my life along the way. The images at first weren’t that great, but just one can bring to mind everything around that moment. Now I’m smitten with photography, it’s part of my life and I have learnt to capture moments just as I saw them. I love my Nikon because it never lets me down. 50,000 shots later it’s still going strong.
This Sunday I’m getting married and you bet my Nikon will be there; in the hands of another, but it’s not letting my life pass me by. There’s a gap in my life which I can fill only with stories but from here on out, I no longer need to rely on my recollection. I have multiple backups.
It focuses fast…every time.
Love my Nikon because it lets me capture priceless moments of my family with remarkable clarity.
I love my Nikon D90 because it’s not only the first camera I bought with my own money, but also the experience I shared with it ever since I bought it. My D90 has become part of my everyday life.
Playing around with the aperture, and the shutter speed. Testing the ISO to suit with the environment. And many other things included. All just to “capture the moment”. Giving me the feeling of satisfaction when the pictures come out right, and re-try if it’s not, trying to improve our co-operation. Me and my camera, D90.
i have a Nikon D40 + kit lens hand-me-down and i love it to bits. i love how a photograph can vividly express emotions without the need for much words. my nikon helps me keep moments i want to remember forever. ♥
Why do you love my Nikon D40 camera?
Because it was the camera I choose to jump into the DSLR world, because photography is all about taking pictures, not reading manuals, zooming at 100%, complaining about lack of sharpness at the edges. For taking pictures you need a camera and it has to be with you, for all the other complementary things you don’t need a camera (you can even use someone else RAW/JPEG file). The D40 is simple and complex enough to learn the tech side of photography, is light and almost inexpensive so there’s little reason not to carry around, has more quality than the photographer (me :p ) at this stage so I shouldn’t complain, because it grows on you, especially when you start opening the windows and doors of this new world of Photography.
But I think the main reason is, because my Nikon D40 is the tool I need to put in practice the old saying:
- a picture is worth a thousand words
Best,
Rodrigo
I love my Nikon camera- (D90 currently), mostly because I can choose from an enormous
range of fine lenses that keep me from feeling limited with smaller, less versatile sets of
compatible glass.
Each lens endows my camera with a new personality with which to explore the “viewniverse”.
I love my Nikon. I am an IT guy(network engineer/administrator), I love configuring devices to reach best results, need everything be under my control! while changing shutter speed or ISO or aparture every time and seeing result, and progress it makes me happy. so Nikon gives me opportunity to control how my photos are going to look and it makes me happy. that’s why i love my DSLR camera.
I love my Nikon D40 — how can I count the ways? I’ve owned it for about 4 years; it’s my first DSLR, and had long been on my wish list. Since then I have had so much fun with my D40. Recently I was at last able to take some formal classes. Since then I love it even more… I am finally “getting” f-stops and shutter speeds. All those menus are becoming familiar and tools that I can use. Most importantly, I am now a grandma! and my D40 is going to get even more use…
I love my Nikon D90 !
This is my firs SLR camera and I simply love it. It allows me to take control over scene and make photos look exactly like I want them look. I’ve been searching for a year my perfect SLR camera -off course, according to my financial ability – and there is it: Nikon D90 + kit lens … I wonder what experience is to take photos with the other lenses… I know, it’s silly, but rarely someone in this poor country can afford such ”luxury”, even the pro-photographers have not so good equipment. I always carry my D90 with me, doesn’t matter how heavy is it. It has become my passion…
I love my Nikon D300 because it is my method of getting away from the high-stress world of work and taking time to look for new beauties in nature. We are constantly surrounded with the pressures of life and people needing our attention and time. When I head to the mountains and shut out the noise of the world and take the time to look at the smallest of flowers, the hidden creatures, the rich colors of the falls leaves, and the blue sky reflecting in the water I can feel my heartbeat slow down, my blood pressure drop, and a sense of peace emerge from life’s daily chaos.
I love my Nikon D40 – it’s traveled with me to many places in Canada and abroad and never failed me, at the same time delivering great image quality!
I love my Nikon D90 because it makes me get out and about. I usually spend time indoors here in Germany(always raining) but when I see a storm or sunset I have an excuse to drive around and take photos… and it is also a fine piece or equipment.

Congratulations!
I have always loved photography but could only afford little point and shoot cameras. My Bro-in-law got this awesome Nikon camera a few years ago and I LOVED taking pictures with it. The quality of the pictures was great and I felt like I could be more artistic with his camera then my own. I wanted to get a Nikon DSLR so bad. Well a few years passed and my Bro-in-law decided that it was time that he got a new camera for his photography business and I became the pround owner of my very own Nikon D70. Since I got this camera a couple of months ago I have been shooting a lot of florwes and other objects outside. I have been able to take the pictures as I invision them for the first time. I love my Nikon even though it is an older model and does not have all the new features its jsut right for me!
I love my Nikon D90, and the associated lenses! The amount of control I have of my pictures, and the interesting photos I can now take has changed my perspective on photography. I’ve always wanted to take it a step further, and this camera and brand makes me think it’s possibly. I hope to go professional one day with this camera or the big brother of the Nikon D700. I just got it a few days ago and can’t imagine putting it down or not having in my car with me at all times.
Thanks for the great website and guides~
Hi Nasim,
Unlike many of the other posters, I currently do not own a dslr but my Nikon d5000 is in the mail :). This will be my first dslr camera and I am really looking forward to that first shot. I have always loved nature and plan do plenty of nature/landscape photography.
Prior to making my purchase, I utilized the information from this website to make my final decision. It was the information available here that kept me from jumping right into the d90 as a beginner. Thank you so much for all the great information you give for us beginners to utilize.
I sure could use one of the best lenses Nikon has to offer =)
Thanks again Nasim,
Steven
I’m user of Canon cameras, but in near future i will buy Nikon system because they have better quality lens. The second reason i will buy Nikon is price of body and lens.
i love my nikon D90 so much that iam sometimes dreaming from taking pictures with it. before i get the virus, i was studying the camera history, especially the german/japanese. the conclusion for me was really easy – taking a nikon as my first DSLR, iam happy – and there is no reason for a change :-)
cheers
thomas
One reason I am Nikon is because of their glass, and then bodies. I heard they are remarkable and now after trying them (d90 + 50mm f/1.4), I have re-discovered the same conclusion ;-)
My husband is into this “expensive” hobby. What should a wife to do? I hesitated between being his supermodel or his financial advisor. Well, there is nothing better than seeing your man/woman happy. I love the Nikon because he loves it ……..hehehe……..
Good luck everyone!
I love my Nikon as it allows me to challenge myself daily, to grow and to reach higher in my neverending quest to replicate the beautiful and inspiring images that are all around me, that are waiting to be discovered.
I love my Nikon because it makes me want to take good pictures! With my point and shoot, I didn’t think about what I was taking, I just “captured the moment”- not that it was bad, it was just a picture. With my Nikon, I think about the picture and I get excited by the picture. My Nikon has given me a hobby(hard thing to do as a fill time military wife, mom, and 5th grade teacher, lol) that I get excited about. I love looking at picures of my kids and how beatiful they are, and how great the picture is!
I love my Nikons because my d300s and d5000 inspire me to find beauty and magic in the world around me -from the day to day activities of my incredible children to the wonders of nature.
I love my Nikon camera because using it provides the best means for me to express myself artistically. It enables me to spend more time investigating and enjoying nature and allows me to share the beauty that I find with family and friends. My Nikon enriches my life and makes me happy!
I love Nikon D90 because its my 3rd eye
After being a Canon user for over 12 years, using dSLR from 300D to 1Ds Mark II, Canon began to let me down when I first bought the 5D MKII, 7D and 1D Mark III. None of my lenses were perfectly sharp out-of-the-box and I had to micro-adjust every lens before it was better (still not good enough). Sharpest results with Canon for me ended with the 1Ds MKII, after that I was not happy with the results due to lack of adjustment that I had to do by myself.
After that I went with the D3, D300s and everytime I mounted my lenses, they were tack-sharp from the first shot. I know that NIkon offers micro-adjustment, but compared to Canon, I have never had to adjust any of my lenses. (Nikkor 35mm f/2, 24-70mm f/2.8, 14-24mm f/1.4, 300mm f/2.8 and 105mm f2.8 VR) – all of them just worked like a charm right out-of-the-box.
Thats the reason why I love Nikon and never will go back to Canon. (Ohh, and the Matrix system in Nikon is also one of the reasons that im in love with Nikon, it is so perfect and gives me such nice exposed photos, every time!) (Ohh and the AF system, ohh and the design, ohh and the support) – Ohh, i guess you get my point, im in luuuve ;)
Kind regards.
I really loved my first dSLR D300 – it was a great piece of hardware with awesome controls! But now I’m in love with my D700 – which has marvelous colors, even thinner DOF and excellent Hi-ISO performance. I can’t ask for more!
At first I was hesitating to buy a Nikon SLR since most people I know are into Canon. But, I still bought a Nikon D5000 anyway.
What I love about my D5000 is that it features swivel LCD!
It also has many flexible options great for first entry level users like me.
What got me more excited is that it’s almost like a twin camera of D90 but at a budget friendly price. I love that I’m learning something new everyday with my Nikon.
I’m glad that you are recommending D5000 for beginners like me. ;)
I had D80, moved to D300 and now I’m happy with my D700… Nikon DSLRs and Nikkor lenses are excellent piece of equipment for photographers and we can rely on their performance. They never let me down and it makes my life happy.
Thanks for great website with lots of useful tips and guides, Nasim. Good luck to you & your family !
I love my Nikon D5000 because it’s my first DSLR and it’s small, less bulky and less expensive than some of its siblings, and yet the image quality is just as good as DX cameras like the D300s and D90. I especially love the D5000′s 2.6” flipping LCD that can swivels all around. This comes handy when I try take pictures of my 6-month old crowling baby. There is no need to get on the floor to take the picture. I also love the way how all the buttons and dials on my D5000 are arranged. simple and yet very logical.
A Nikon is where the moment is, to click and carry home the memory, the charm and the beauty of being at the right place at the right time with the right equipment.
I own a Nikon D5000 with a 35mm Prime lens and love it to bits.
D
I love my D5000 right now. Just picked it up a few months ago and still learning all the things I can do with it and it’s a lot more compared to my P&S. I feel once I keep taking pictures with my D5000, I’ll go from taking snapshots to great photographs.
Reasons why I love my Nikon D5000 is because it is a great price. Plus the quality of pictures I can take of my family is beyond what I thought I can do. Plus it is simple enough that my wife who knows nothing about DSLRs can use it and get some good shots.
I love my Nikon camera, because when I push the button it takes pretty pictures – it’s like magic and stuff…
;)
Hi, first i must say sorry for my english writing.
My first Nikon was a F-401s as it is named here in Norway. After that it has been many Nikon houses and several lenses. But for many reasons i dont have so mutch stuff annymore. Just a D5000 and a kit lens. A 50 mm would be a nice suplement for portraits of my 2 sons!!
I just made the jump from a Canon powershot to the Nikon D-90. I LOVE this camera! I wanted to have so much more creative freedom that my old camera would allow. I always wanted to blur the background of photos and just be able to manipulate my settings. I think the thing that stands out the most is the speed in which the D-90 takes pictures. I feel like a “real” photographer when I hear the clicking of the shutter and dont have to wait for the lens to focus. The pictures are amazing and I am sure that I will get thousands more great shots!
I love the results I get from my Nikon D5000 with the Lensbaby Composer and my recently aquired 35mm f1.8 lens. I really prefer the prime lens to the zooms.
I love my Nikon because it has become an old friend. I was first introduced to my friend as a young teen in the 60′s by Simon and Garfunkel in a song called Kodachrome. My concerned dad noticed the song I over played and bought me a brick of Kodachrome, a Nikon with three lenses and lessons with a local pro. That Nikon ended my relationship with drugs and has taken me on a life long journey. My Nikon has fed me and my family since the 70′s. Many times when I was in danger my nikon made friends with my potential enemies and once protected me from an item thrown at me because of the color of my skin by racist. When my son Ryan died in a tragic drowning accident, my Nikon took me off at times and freed my mind off the pain for days at a time as we got lost finding photos. My Nikon has introduced me to the kings of nations, the poorest of the poor and every mankind in between. My Nikon has been a really really good friend and has never let me down! That’s why I love my Nikon!
Ever since I’ve achieved the much-admired Nikon D5000, I can’t stop taking pictures! I simply adore everything about this camera – the clarity of details on photographs, the complexity of its controls, the smooth-like-silver and professional look of the camera.. I could go on for hours trying to tell you how wonderful it was just to hold it and be so personal with such a delicate piece.
My Nikon SLR has allowed me to capture the most vivid moments in life. A small wrinkle of a smile, a beautifully blurred background, it has become the best companion of my life. Whenever I look at it, I associate it with its pictures of happy faces and breathtaking sceneries. Through it, I have seen and documented life as it should’ve always looked like – always inspiring, always thrilling, always extraordinary.
I am a novice in Photography.Did lot of research (almost an year!) to figure out the best camera that fits in my budget.Thats how I came to know about D40. But, by the time I saved enough money to buy, it was no more available in India! But, I some how managed to get it shipped from US.. and Now, I am the proud owner of a Nikon D40 + 18-55 kit lens.
I love my D40 for the following reasons..
1.The best(as per internet) that I could afford.
2.Gives excellent results and very easy to use..
3.light weight.
I love my Nikon D90 for never having me let down in producing pictures the way I want, for its build quality, wonderful viewfinder and, what is very important for me – its ergonomics, as it feels much better in my hand than any other DSLR from other brands that I’ve ever held. The last reason, but not least – the sheer amount of useful Nikon-user-aimed info I can read on this site :)
When it comes to camera, i know only one name, that is Nikon.
Nikon is the best i’ve seen, when ya’re not a professional, it helps, whwn you are, it helps ya even better. Its easy, beautiful on works, totally professional, and brilliant in quality.
I love my D5000…its a real piece of gold to my life.
And when it comes to “playing with light”…Nikon is the only one that i can think of to play with.
If I’ll have a chance to buy a good camer I’ll go for Canon, not Nikon. Simply because I love Canon, that’s it.
I love my Nikon because it gives me this opportunity to win a lens for it. Thank’s guys!
I love my Nikon D90 – it helps me make great family memories for a lifetime.
I speak 3 of languages you do, would love to learn turkish one day. My 4th language is KARAKALPAK.

Just found your site/blog – love the photos!! Your food photography is amazing. And I love my Nikon D200 because of the great quality of Nikon lenses and the amazing results I can get with it! (My first 35mm camera was a Nikon – still have it, and I got a great deal on the D200 body so It’s all mine!) Thanks for the chance to win!
Susan
i luv Nikon.. simply cos its the best. and in my local language … (ee camera entae jeevitham matty marichu. itu entae jeevan aanu. itil njaan entae nagna netrangal kondu kaanathae kaazhakal kandu anubhavikunnu.) does any wanna know the meaning?. i luv ma Guru……….. and love ur photos more than any thing.
I love my Nikon because it’s always there for me! Even when no one else is.
I love my Nikon D700 because it allows me get the pictures that I envision they shoud be.
I love my Nikon D90. I just got it a few weeks ago, and so far it has been a ton of fun. It was something I could afford, it takes excellent photos, and does exactly what I want. For the longest time I’ve wanted a DSLR to take pictures like you see scattered all over photography blogs and such. Now I’m able to do exactly that. I’d love to upgrade to an FX camera some day, but that will probably be awhile from now.

I love my Nikon because it is as old as my son. When we found out that I was pregnant with our first child, I told my husband that I wanted to upgrade our camera. We purchased the Nikon D3000 a few weeks before my son was born. I’ve always loved photography (it’s a relatively cheap form of therapy for me), but now I love that I’m learning about photography and my son at the same time. As I get to know my camera and its capabilities, I’m learning how to capture the different aspects of my son’s personality. I love that I will always be able to remember him exactly as he is by looking at the pictures I’ve taken. Being a new mom, I don’t get to do a lot of the things I used to enjoy. My son takes up a lot of my time! Taking photos of him is something he and I get to do together. It soothes me. And, there is such a sense of accomplishment when you have an idea for a photo but you have to tweak and tweak the settings on the camera until you finally get exactly to photo you were hoping for!
I went from a point and shoot digital camera when my son was born to a NikonD80 simply because babies are fast and they do not hold a pose. I did not want all my memories of him to be a blur. I needed speed and Nikon did not disappoint. I still have that camera; it’s a part of our family. We are inseparable.

I love the results I get from my Nikon D5000 with the kit lens 18-55mm and my recently aquired two lenses 35mm f1.8 lens and 18-200 VRII. I really prefer the prime lens to the zooms.
I use a Canon camera. Recently released is a Novoflex adapter that can be used to mount Nikon’s G Series lenses to Canon EOS bodies. I chose Canon over Nikon because of easier access to lenses. (Most of my friends use Canon). I love the blues and green I’ve seen in shots from my friends with Nikons.
Nasim,
Thanks to your kind advice over email, I purchased a Nikon D90 camera and couldn’t be happier. I have never had a DSLR camera and this one is my first. I now understand why so many people love Nikons! They are so intuitive and easy to operate. I have a lot to learn, but I am very satisfied with the images from my brand new D90, I love it! The colors are so beautiful and images so crisp, nothing like my old Canon point and shoot.
Giani, you won the grand prize, congratulations! Please send me your address as soon as possible by replying to the email you will receive shortly.
The term “I am Nikon” is a reflection of my love to Nikon.
Without my Nikon i am unable,
Without my Nikon i am not living,
Without my Nikon i cannot see my life with clarity,
Without my Nikon i am just me.
I started with D90 as my first camera, with Nikon my love for photography evolve.
I capture day to day moment and eventually found my life calling.
The possibility are endless, and what you can capture is limitless.
Recently i upgraded to Nikon D700, and night time have become my playing field.
Iso performance is smooth, and quality is unbelievable.
Nikon have greatly influence my life.
So with that NIKON kick A$$!!! :)
I love my Nikon because it represents everything I expect from a dSLR: performance, reliability, and features. I started with a Nikon D40 as my first camera and 2 years later I bought myself a Nikon D90. Nikon is true to it’s name and makes cameras that are spectacular from one end of the spectrum to the other. I mean, they just work. Simple as that. With a Nikon I can truly capture what I see. It is a workhorse of a camera and is only limited by the photographer. When I think of cameras, I think of Nikon.
I love my Nikon because in a complex world full of confusion and distraction, it is always so reliably there – like a favorite pair of gloves or boots it simply fits me so well that it becomes an extension of me and allows me to do things that without it I could not…
I love my Nikon because it narrows my perspective yet broadens my horizon, with user-friendly simplicity. The D90 I am currently using is great for a beginner eager to take on the photography.
I love my Nikon because it rocks!
Because my Nikon became my good buddy in capturing moments and events
Because my Nikon became my good buddy in capturing moments and events which I will treasure for the rest of my life. It helped me appreciate little creatures around me that I don’t usually give importance before. Spiders, insects became my model for my subject as well. Also older lenses work on newer bodies. No hardware wasted. Simply amazing. I love Nikon!
I love my Nikon D60 as it lets me preserve those wonderful moments with my family, especially with my kids. Soon they will outgrow me and live their own lives. I will surely miss those wonderful times together (cute smiles, first haircut, first performance in a school program etc.) but thanks to my trusty Nikon, I can capture and freeze those sceneries, keep them and cherish them as long as I live.
Proud and happy owner of Nikon D5000,
I have always loved photography, however,I have never looked into it as anything serious,it was just a hobby I could do in my spare time. I actually decided to purchase a Nikon D5000 after reading some of the reviews and articles here, which became a gift from my fiancé because he knew how passionate I am about photography. I love my Nikon, because it allows me to capture the moment as I see it,so I am able to share that moment with others; whether its a laugh, silly face or a rare butterfly, it all comes together when I upload those pictures into my laptop and share them.
My very first DSLR it is a Nikon D90 and it’s being shipped to me right now and I can barely wait to unbox it and start capturing everything around me. I have a trip in Latin America comming up in september and that will be my first trip with a camera like that. I’m looking forward to see the great pictures I’m going to take!
I love my Nikon camera because it brings me closer with my family and friends. We share the kind of sweet memories viewing those photos. I am saving up for my upcoming Nikon lenses because they are always giving me the best results. Kudos to Nikon!!
ps: Thanks to the Mansurovs for opening up this ground to express our hearts out.
I love my Nikon because it has helped me with my online vintage business (i take all of my product photos with it) and because it has captured priceless family moments. It’s definitely one of my most prized possessions!
I love my Nikon because it has captured all the great moments in my life, and has given me a different look at the world around me. Plus it produces such clear, real images with really no processing needed. What more could you ask for in a camera.
I have tried my friend’s Nikon DSLR and LOVE it. It is so smooth to work with and it produces clear beautiful shots. I would definitely recommend Nikon to a friend and am planning on upgrading to one.
I love this lens! I have the Nikon f1.8 50mm but would love to win this! I love my Nikon D90 camera because it is a DSLR plus it takes videos too! I swapped my Canon DSLR for this camera because I prefered the Nikon lenses in general – very happy with the camera!
I don’t presently own a Nikon camera, but I am planning to purchase one asap to further my photography aspirations. Being that I’m a student (and as is known, students have very little money!), winning this would be great!
Thank you
Reena
I have absolutely loved my barely-sold-anymore Nikon D50 since I got it nearly 5 years ago. It changed my life! I had previously had a point-and-shoot with me when I was just starting to travel, and I found that I couldn’t take the shots I wanted because my shutter speed was too slow. I moved up to the DSLR primarily to get a better shutter speed – but then discovered that photography was so much more. I have grown as a photographer since then, and my D50 has been with me the whole time. I’m looking to more seriously improve my skills and expand my lens collection, so this would be perfect!
I believe that my family actually owns a Canon which works very well, but I have heard many great things about Nikon and I’m looking forward to trying it out.
acg@gaggle.net
My very first camera was a vintage Nikon manual camera, it was passed down from my mother who had used it when she was my age. I cherished this camera and feel a special connection to Nikon because of this. Each time I looked through the lense, I’d think of my mother mapping out her next shoot. I don’t currently own a Nikon but will one day find my way back.
I voted for you all in the contest, currently in 5th HURRY PEOPLE VOTE! :)
I love my Nikon D100. It allows me to capture great moments and has also inspired me to learn a lot more about photography beyond what I could do with my point and shoot camera.
I love all my Nikon cameras, from the N70 to the F100, D70, D300 and now the D700. While alot have changed since the N70, every Nikon I had just felt… well.. like a Nikon! Superb ergonomics, top of the line technology and reliable AF. What else do you need?
At this point, the love is almost unconditional :)
Amazing blog and great idea! Hope I win! Thanks :)
i would like to own a nikon camera because i need to up my game in terms of taking pictures for my blog!! aaahh!! it takes sharp pictures that my digital point and shoot camera cannot deliver.
libys11(at)yahoo(dot)com
I’m a Canon user (but I have Nikon friends that would pee themselves for this lens). Two reasons I stayed away: 1) Nikon lenses tend to be a bit more expensive and 2) the camera body is larger and my hands aren’t very big. I do LOVE 50mm lenses though (I have a f/1.8) and the idea of shooting with a f/1.4 sounds heavenly!
Oh my goodness, my Nikon D90 allows me to create such amazing shots of my nephew. I don’t have children yet but I can’t wait to photograph them with my DSLR. It’s awesome. I can get the best of macro photos! I’m just a beginner but have always loved photography.

that’s the number one after the “n” :)
I love my Nikon D90 because, one, it was a birthday gift from my hubby and daughter and two, with it, we’ve captured countless priceless moments of ourselves, friends and family, events and places. And besides, it’s a Nikon. What’s not to love? :)
I love my nikon d300 because it takes beautiful shots and lets the photographer really be creative in capturing moments!
I love my Nikons, my first was a D50 which I still use and love. This year I made the jump to full frame and specifically the D700. I tried it, bought it, am using it and simply love it. Nikon makes such intuitive cameras that feels right in every way and that allows whomever uses one to take stunning pictures.
I am in the process of picking a camera! I have read so many great reviews about the nikon brand! I just need to narrow it down to a favorite! This lens would be awesome to have! I would love to have a chance to win it! I adore photography and taking tons of pictures of my kids and 3 dogs!! xoxo
kimberly.long at gmail dot com
I do not own a Nikon camera, but I would consider buying one. I like how DSLR camera works and how the quality usually better. The pictures does not get blurry as much as a regular digital camera does. If I do get one, I’ll take a lot of pictures because that’s one of my favorite things to do.
I actually do not own a Nikon *yet* but I am in the market for one. We’re having a child in December and we have a terrible point/shoot camera. We broke our nice Canon in Europe– or should I say, it broke itself when the lens error appeared and wouldn’t retract. I have now decided that all Nikons I’ve observed the usage of seem far superior to my former Canon. Still bitter about the expense and issues with that one, I am moving on and can’t wait to have myself a Nikon!
I use a Nikon D300 and love it. I use Nikons because they are the only company who’s lenses still work on my D300 no matter when the lens was made. Granted that they may only be used in manual mode, but they work. I find the controls easy to use and find. I love the consistancy of the Nikon products from the first one I purchased N90 (old film model) to my current camera.
I love my brother’s Nikon (I don’t have one) because the picture quality is always crisp and it is an affordable camera. Thanks for this giveaway!
I love my Nikon. In fact, I switched over from Canon Rebel XT. I like the ergonomic of my D90. It’s the only camera in my budget range that feel so good in my hands. Canon Rebel XT series feel a bit small and 50D is too heavy. Nikon D90 is just right that I could have it around my neck all day. I hope one day I could justify to move up to a full frame. D700 is a good candidate. Nikon 50 mm f/1.4D lens would fit that camera too!
I love my Nikon D80 because i look for the end results which gives me the quality and priceless value. After using my D80 those point and shoot cameras seems inferior. So for me taking a photo it not great until my nikon’s at hand.
Why do I love my Nikon Camera; They feel like home; I started with an N65 in 2002 shooting a ton of Ilford ASA50 and Kodak Technipan Film. Going from body to the next is an easy transition; I own a D300s and rent D700′s and nikkors for my wedding work. In my experience Nikon has catered to the photographer: not changing the lens mount since antiquity, focusing on ergonimic design, keeping file sizes down while the rest of the world seems to have forgotten about the law of dminishing returns in the megapixel race, etc. I adore the flash system, the customization of the bodies, the attention to details like the vertical gripe for the D300/D700 and how it takes up less space in my bag. Would love to move up to the D3s, but for most things the 700/300 or even the 90 can get the vision captured.
I currently own a small “point & shoot” camera that stays near me daily.
Thankfully, photograpy is helping me navigate the rocky road of mental depression.
It helps during rough times to study and dream about the various equipment that is offered by Nikon.
My goal is to buy some good glass, along with that impressive Nikon D700 camera body, that I desire so much.
The reason I would consider buying a Nikon is simple.
It boils down to three things.
Quality, design and remarkable innovation!
Kim
i love my nikon because it’s the only brand camera my grandfather used (he was a professional photographer). he passed away before i was born but his photographs live on to me! i’m still inspired to take great shots today.
DolphinV27@aol.com
I love my Nikon cause it’s easy to use and takes incredible pictures. I also love using my parent Nikon from 1980, still takes great pictures (took it on our honeymoon).

I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D90, half a year ago. I then found your website and love it. I love my D90 becasue it allows me to take creative pictures.
I would definitely buy a Nikon because I borrowed my friend’s Nikon the first time I ever took a photography class, and I really liked it.
I don’t currently have a Nikon, having sold my old manual 35mm SLR, but my friend has a Nikon DSLR and he loves it. He is a photography teacher, and his work is really great. I’d love to get a Nikon to share with my boyfriend, to hopefully revive our shared lapsed photography hobbies.
i was so upset shooting my kids with a point and shoot. i almost cried after missing shots at the play. i swore no more of that. a month later and still to this day my d50 treats me right. simple, yet effective. i just can’t afford to upgrade the body or the lens.
I love my D3000 because it has expanded my mind in photography. I have registered nice moments, places I’ve been to and people I’ve met with this camera. Now I intend to move up with my gear (which is how I got here: looking for the D90 high ISO samples…) and learn more about photography and related arts.
I love my Nikon because it’s reliable: It will never fails me. And I am attached to it, because it belonged to my dad.
Nikon D-SLR body is ergonomic and tough, the control is logical, well placed and easily operated so I don’t need to read the manual to use it. The sensor, metering, focusing & IQ are great to produce stunning but still look natural images. There are wide selections of lenses and Nikon still maintains compatibility with old lenses, the quality are also suburb even the cheap one. Last but not least Nikon Creative Lighting Solution is brilliant…
I would absolutely LOVE this lens. I’ve been in the market for a 50mm for my Nikon D40 for a while now, and this would be perfect!
I love my Nikon because it’s incredibly easy to use and give amazing results.
I was first introduced to Nikon on my first day of photography class and I’ve loved it ever since!
I love my Nikon because it has allowed me to learn how to take amazing photos! Since receiving her {yep, it’s a “she”, ha!} I’ve been in love. I love being able to capture amazing photos of my girls, too. Just to decide one day that we’re going on a photo shoot and capturing magic with her. I just love it! I am constantly learning, learning, learning and loving my Nikon more and more everyday.
GREAT giveaway–thank you so much!

Sevgiler.
I love my Nikon because it takes me places I never thought I would go. It became my favorite excuse for traveling and it allows me to be a bolder and less shy person.
I love my Nikon because it’s such a great tool for recording my life. With the addition of my daughter, I am always striving to improve my photography skills and I love learning new skills with my Nikon!
In the beginning I chose Nikon as it has been the camera that my father use. I now truly love Nikon because the lenses are excellent and they take sharp pictures! The camera is a little heavy compare to Canon but they are better built and the menu are much easier to access. Anyway, Nikon gives me pride when I carry it around, that is why I love my Nikon.
Nikon 50mm f/1.4G can turn any Nikon DSLR to produce beautiful pictures that is why I’m longing to win the contest :D
I don’t own a Nikon camera, but am considering buying one because I love photography and Nikon is a brand I trust.
I love my Nikon D5000, which I named ‘Nikollo’, because more than just a camera, it is my ultimate tool for social commentary. With its superb ergonomics and the amazing image quality it delivers, I carry it almost everyday to capture and document the realities of life around me. With Nikollo, I am almost always able to achieve my objective of “comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable.”
I love my Nikon D90 because it’s more versatile than I am! Capturing people, places, and events without a moment’s hesitation in either an automatic mode, or specifically set in manual, it is a wonderful tool. Controls are in the “right place”, intuitive, and its capabilities are incredible. Top that off with excellent quality at a reasonable price and you have true “value”.
I love my Nikon D5000 because it is my first DSLR. I love how it feels in my hands and I love the way I feel when I am using my Nikon. I love learning how to use it and capturing everything I see. Thank you for this opportunity to win a new amazing lens! Michelle ~ maajick@gmail.com
voted and recommended on Denver’s A list! Goodluck guys!
…I love my Nilon because it makes me a better person…
I don’t have a Nikon camera, but would definitely consider buying one–they have a great reputation!
I love my Nikon D5000 because I can take priceless picture with it. I’m new to DSLR photography, but I like to learn using it and taking picture of everything I see! Thanks for your blog, I really learned a lot reading about all the topics!
Also voted! Good luck!
I like sound of Nikon’s shutter, ergonomics and of course the pictures!
I own Nikon D40. The strength is sync with flash – 1/500s! I do a lot of pictures where i need these speed.
All these give me overall picture of Nikon.
I love my Nikon D80 because every day I spend with it, I feel so happy, creative and free! I forget about all my problems and worries and it becomes about capturing the beauty of life. Later it’s good to admire the good photos we have taken together. Nikon has never really been just a camera for me :)
I love my Nikon, because it has allowed me to capture such beautiful images of my four kids!
Thanks so much for an awesome giveaway!
Was thinking that I should not post this comment, that maybe there are other people that need the lens more than I do, so I spent some time reading what other people say they want the lens for… but, anyways…
I do not own a Nikon camera, just an awful Olympus, and this is not so good because I am trying to run a small business(I’m only 19, so money is a problem) and really need to take quality pictures of my products. If I win this, will buy a Nikon that will suit the lens.
Greetings from Romania!
Ps. I also travel all over the country, and would be great if I had a camera that takes quality pictures that I could share with everybody. (Romania is a wonderful country!!)
I love my Nikon Camera (D50) because it’s quality and ease of use allow me to focus on composition and capture of the imagry that define my style.
I love my Nikon D40x for the flexibility it gives me in the photographic process. As a longtime film user, the digital SLR makes it far easier to experiment and see the results right away. I’ve learned skills and techniques much quicker, and get more satisfaction out of my work.
Funny, I visited your blog to help decide if the 50mm lens should be my next lens purchase or the 70-200mm (just as I did before purchasing my D300), only to discover you love it so much, you are giving one away!
I love my Nikon(s) because it is an extension of my arm. The usability of Nikon (vs other brands I tried) is so simple and intuitive that I can change manual settings without taking my eye away from the viewfinder. My Nikon takes great pics! So many are usable straight out of the camera, gotta love it!
Thank you for reviewing gear and giving such great comparative studies! Before I buy, I always check to see what you have to say!
I love my Nikon because with it I can capture all the best moments in my life and because it is helpful with my blog!
i love my nikon because is a nikon…
I am an aspiring photographer as well as a poor college student. Nikon allowed me to purchase an absolutely amazing camera at a relatively low cost. I would LOVE to have another lens for mine.
i also voted.
I love my Nikon camera because of the amazing quality with which it allows me to take pictures of all the beautiful images in nature around me.
I love my Nikon camera because it has a great user menu and it can be used for point-and-shoot and for the more advanged settings.
I don’t own a Nikon camera, or any camera for that matter, but I am eagerly saving money to get myself a D5000. After doing extensive research I came to the conclusion that for my needs, the D5000 is the best choice, of course, withing my (very) limited budget. Now, if I’d actually win this amazing lens, then I’d be able to get the D5000 in a “body only” kit just in time for my birthday, September 1st!
Crossing fingers, and toes! Oh, yeah, and I also voted for you on the A-list ;-)
I love my Nikon camera because it has done everything I have asked of it and more. I bought my first Nikon DSLR specifically because I was an avid amateur photographer and wanted something capable of taking a picture immediately when the shutter release was pressed instead of taking a second or so to focus. This was because with my point and shoot I was always missing the great action shots of my kids. But on top of that it renewed my passion for photography back to the level it was in the days when I had a film SLR and a darkroom to develop on. This renewal has led me to begin the process of going pro. And I owe it all to my Nikon camera.
With my Nikon camera I learned to see the world in a more interesting way. There is absolute marvel everywhere when you learn how to look for it. And that is why I love my Nikon camera.
Why do I love my Nikon camera?
I bought my first Nikon camera nine years ago, a D50. At first, most of the dials and buttons were a mystery to me. As I developed as a photographer, my knowledge of the camera grew and so did my love for the Nikon system. Since then, I’ve bought a D200, a D700, as well as an FE and an F80 (film cameras). Nikons have changed slightly over the years, but one thing has remained the same: they become so intuitive that the camera becomes part of you and you can focus on what matters… capturing beautiful images. My Nikon goes with me almost everywhere and I love it!

PS- Nikon lenses rock as well :)
I love my Nikon because of how it makes me feel as a photographer. Every snap of the shutter puts me in control of the photo. The Nikon is an irreplaceable tool in my arsenal as I try to catch that perfect moment. I love Nikon because it effortlessly helps me capture precious moments and freeze them in time. I also love my Nikon because it has been passed down through my family, from my grandparents to my father. I love how Nikon allows you to use lenses that are 30 years old on new bodies. That is true commitment to their customers. One day I will pass on the Nikon legacy to my children and let their imaginations run wild.
i love my nikon for its versatility. the depth of control you can reach really allows you to take your hobby to the marketplace.
Love my Nikon for its color reproduction and the the excellent feel it gives me when I am holding it. When I hold my nikon it feels like holding the Mercedes Benz steering wheel… Love it….
Why do I love my Nikon Camera?
I love my Nikon camera because each time I hold it it makes my dream come true. I wish I was a photographer, traveling across the world and shooting pictures for a living. Unfortunately I am not. The career I chose is difficult and a great (great!) source of stress, but each time I hold my Nikon D90 my dream comes true in just a few “clicks”. The camera is intuitive and easy to use, each button perfectly placed and Nikon lenses add to this perfect package. Shooting with my Nikon camera transports me in a new world where colors and subjects make me travel through my lens and make my stress go away…
PS: the D90 was a recommendation from Nasim. Best choice I have ever made as well as getting married to the woman of my dreams 2 years ago… :-)
Little did I know in what wonderful ways I would be reconnect me with my love for photography after purchasing my Nikon D90. Photography has become a great way to stay creative outside of work, away from 3D modeling, animating, and compositing. Most importantly it’s given me great reasons to step away from my computer for a short time and enjoy the outdoors again.
I currently do not own a Nikon camera but it is on my Christmas list!! This lens would be a good incentive to persuade my husband, I mean Santa to get me my camera :-) My oldest son is a swimmer and the parents are required to sit in upstairs bleachers. I currently do not have a camera that will take action shoots or zoom in far enough to get a clear picture of my son racing :-(
love Nikon for the outstanding lenses they make…
being a beginner i always dream of owning crispy Nikon gear!
Why do I love my Nikon camera?
My first camera is my Nikon D5000. I shoot my families pictures with it. I start to involved in a new hobby and start to gain new knowledge. D5000 introduced me with Aperture, Shutter, Bokeh. D5000 also introduce me with photo editing. That’s why I really love my Nikon camera. Really enjoy…!!! :D
When I wanted to buy my first digital camera, owing just film zenith, i wanted nikon camera, however i was given a gift – canon 50D, which is also great, but canon cameras have their own opinion about colours) I love nikon cameras for their colors, they are more natural and easy to percept which is very important for me, and now i know for sure that my next camera is going to be Nikon)
I LOVE my nikon because I always seem to get that perfect shot! Plus it’s fast enough to catch my very busy toddlers :)
I am a little obsessed with Nikon. I use D700′s to photograph weddings and they are awesome! I have the 50 1.4D and I’ve tried the 50 1.4G and the Sigma 50 1.4 as well. I think the Nikon 50 1.4G may be the best of the bunch! I’d love to own it!
Sadly, I learnt AFTER buying my first DSLR that Nikon had a macro lens with image stabilisation and I had purchased a Canon and they didn’t do one. I was especially interested in making macro images and quickly realised how many more options I would have had if I had had a lens with the added benefit of IS. I also learnt that the Nikon flash system was better and flash is frequently used with macro. I await my lottery win so that I can buy a Nikon set up. I shall keep my Canon set up for bird photography: best of both worlds. :-)
I actually don’t like Nikon’s point&shoot cameras, I don’t know why. But I believe Nikon is #1 in DSLR cameras. I own one of its D5000. I love the camera. All the features it has and of course great image quality. And one more thing. I think Nikon was one of the motivation to the creation of this website, as almost all gorgeous pictures on Mansurovs.com are taken in Nikon! :) (excluding couples those taken in iPhone and BB.)
I have always been a fan of Nikons, especially the vivid colors you get in every shot.
I just love the sound from my D90 everytime that shutter clicks. I have tried Canon DLSR and it can’t match the joy I get from taking photos with Nikon.
Love my camera because it captures best pictures of my bisy life with my new arrival Umar, living me with such a wonderful memoris when I left alone at nights (даже не помню когда ето было в последние раз) :) in lightroom. Also I got advantage of having best place in our family weddings with my Nikon because I’m “Family photographer” as my Daddy calls me :) (в одное руке сын в другой телефон третий пишу Вам в блог:))
I do not own a Nikon camera. But my youngest daughter (15) is in love with photography. And I would love love love for her to be able to have this lens to some day add to her Nikon camera.

i cherish my nikon (named as henry) because it was given to me to take care of while my boyfriend is on his mission for our church. i know how much he loves henry so i feel unbeliveble honored that he let me keep it. he wanted me to capture everything that happens to me while he’s gone so that way i have also grown very attached to henry =)
I plan on buying a Nikon d3000 because I had a chance to borrow it and use it for a few days and I love it!!! Its definitely a splurge but will be saving up my pennies.
Why I love my Nikon camera… well that’s easy! Because it is the tool that is going to help me pursue my dreams by aiding me in creating my portfolio! This is the perfect tool to help me get accepted into the university program I’ve been dreaming about for years.
I love my Nikon because it enables me to capture so many images that many point-and-shoots are incapable of doing. It is because of my Nikon that I have gotten as far as I have gotten in photography, and it deepened my love for photography even more. I have been wanting this lens for a very long time, and it would be amazing if I won! :)
Well, I don’t own a Nikon DSLR… yet (but I do use a Nikon point and shoot!). My current DSLR is an Olympus, but I’ve been wanting to make the switch to a Nikon for awhile now. This would just be an awesome incentive to finally go out and buy a new body!
Hmm, what don’t I love about our Nikon…. We are a Nikon family and since our business is photography/Internet based we use it every single day. We use a variety of lenses. I guess what we love is that Nikon consistently delivers quality images and the optics are hard to beat.
I love my Nikon D40x because of it’s durability and versatility. I use it for everything from a travel camera to a fine art tool. All it takes is a few settings and it’s ready to go.
I love my Nikon d90 because it helps me to capture the world the way I see it so much better than my old pointandshoot.
I don’t have a NIKON camera but I am certainly planning to get one. Every photographer who has plans of going into photography seriously has to have a NIKON on his/her mind. A photographer’s life would not be complete or comprehensible without one. Completely unimaginable. It would be a photographer’s greatest gift.
I love my Nikon because it is fairly easy to use, and still produces quality pictures. I love that I can also use it as a point-and-shoot. I’m still learning all the things it can do, and I’m excited just thinking about the possibility to grow as an amateur photographer. It is my very first “fancy” camera and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a regular digital camera ever again.
I just bought my Nikon last month and it is an amazing camera to have! I bought the Nikon D5000, and it is a beginning photographer’s dream! The camera is simple to use, and it helps me to capture the moments I cherish, as well as the food I have created. My Nikon allows me to have greater control over the pictures I take!
I had a little baby Olympus E-410 as my intro into DSLRs. I bought it off craigslist and I remember I was so excited to have it. Then, I decided I needed something more heavy duty and bought a Nikon D70s. That baby has been with me everywhere, from the pool to the mountains to the beach to GHANA. I love it because it sticks with me when I need it. And because it’s been to Ghana and back.
I absolutely love my Nikon D40 – it may be entry-level, but it’s enough for me to have control over my shots. Exposure, focus, the things I missed the most when all I had was a point-and-shoot Canon. No longer do I have to rely on trial and error in order to get my macro shots to focus on that sweet spot!
I’d love love love to have a Nikon cam again! The world is so full of wonders, words just can’t be enough. A picture is much more than a thousand words… that’s how I’d like to write my book(s): fill them in with much more than a thousand words!
I love my Nikon D60 because (like others) it’s been everywhere with me. Right now I’m interning in New York and my Nikon has been there the whole way to document the experience. The only thing I wish my lens had (I have an older 50mm f/1.8) is the ability to auto focus, because sometimes I get an awesome shot, but my subject is just slightly out of focus. Or I’ll spend too long trying to get it in focus and miss out. But this lens would fix that problem! ;)
I’ve been a Canon user for years, but have been harboring the desire to switch to Nikon the last couple of months. This would be quite the welcome to the land of Nikon.
It’s really nice of you guys to giveaway! Hehe.. I have never owned a camera before I bought my Nikon D5000. I also love how friendly it is to its users – with its user friendly interface it makes using the camera much easier, and it makes photography as a whole much easier to learn. But most of all I love how I can capture literally a second of beautiful moments and memories that I have with my friends and family! The clear cut images I have with my Nikon camera brings me back to those moments and those places :D and that’s why I love my Nikon! Hehe
I have started reading about how to open a food blog, but was worried because I don’t have a nice camera. My cousin owns a Nikon and she uses it for her blog, so that is the type I have been looking at. This lens would give me a great headstart.
I currently don’t own a Nikon DSLR, but have ALWAYS wanted to get into photography! Even going back to my 2mp sony point and shoot (at the age of 10), I have always tried to be artistic and take beautiful landscape photos. I have been looking into all of the DSLRs that are available, and was pretty convinced that I would be getting the Canon T2i. Then I went to a local camera shop, held it, then held the Nikon D90, and immediately my mind was made up. Holding it made everything clear to me. It just felt right. So now, I will be picking up the Nikon D90 or the rumoured D95 that may be announced soon! I am just SOOO excited to get started! After all that I’ve read on your blog, I am POSITIVE that this will be a staple in my collection!
I love my Nikon D40 camera because I love to create! I’ve always enjoyed creating design work and illustrations and when I got my hands on my Nikon, I also discovered I love to take photos too. May it be photographing my own work, taking photos with friends or mocking a photoshoot, I enjoy it all! To me, being able to create a beautiful image is the greatest thing for me. It takes me away from all my problems and makes me realize that I want to share my vision with everyone in any sort of medium I can get my hands on.
I love my D70 & D80 because they have brought me closer to my husband! We finally have a common hobby of shooting wonderful picture of our kids….. and I love to cook and share recipes on my blog… so this lens is a dream lens to have….. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway!
I love my Nikon D60 camera because it transforms our daily walk in the park into a mini photo session. My son will always have those memories now, and the shots always make great grandparent gifts.
I love my Nikon camera because it allows me to capture important events in my life, which brings happiness not only to me, but also my family when we look back on all the pictures I’ve taken and relive those memories. I also love my Nikon because I’ve had it forever and the pictures still amaze people even though it’s really old/outdated!
I love my Nikon D5000 because it allows me to capture beautiful images and let others see the world as I see it; through a camera lens. I love food and I really enjoy food styling and photography, though I currently don’t own a blog. I am a student and on a budget thus I am surviving only on my kit lens! It does produce wonderful pictures but the bokeh effect that the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S lens produces is something I’ve always coveted and desired to achieve. Thanks for having this wonderful giveaway!
what a fun giveaway! i love my nikon d40 because it’s easy so friendly to use even for a newbie like me. i could even give it to a kid and he would know how to use it. thanks for the giveaway!
I have long been a fan of Nikon cameras; I am planning on buying a D5000 to replace the FM10 I currently have. It’s been long enough a wait!
I love my Nikon D60 because it is the first dSLR I have ever owned and I have learned an utterly amazing amount of information while owning it. I’ve gone from trying to shoot inside in the dark with horrible on camera flash and bad composition to beautifully naturally lit portraits of both my children. I only wish I’d learned more sooner as my second child has nothing but gorgeous shots of herself from birth and my son is limited to the newest shots of himself being “good quality” in my eyes.
I take my camera absolutely everywhere (even the grocery store) and I’m constantly telling people about how awesome and user friendly it is. The guide buttons really helped and forums online were also a big help in my books. I couldn’t imagine using another brand of camera as I’ve tried out friends Rebels, but I just love my Nikon more!
Thank you!
My hobby is entering recipe contests. More and more contests are requiring photographs of the finished product with the recipe. At this time I am shooting with a Cannon F10 but am ready to move up to a Nikon. deciding which model—–any suggestions?
I have taken a bit of time away from my blog while I battle breast cancer. If all goes well I will be back around Sept. 1. Iwill review your blog when I return
Eversince I bought my first DSLR last February 2010, it changed my view about travelling and how people lived in other places. I make the right decision when I bought my Nikon D5000 because I have many peers who share their experience owning a Nikon camera. My lens collection have grew to 18-55mm AF-S VR, 35mm f/1.8 AF-S and 55-200mm AF-S VR as my knowledge about photography keep on axpanding. It’s proud owning a Nikon products.
I love my D200 camera; it helps me to capture good times with my family. Since I bought it, it has given me a chance to learn a lot of photography knowledge. It also takes my mind off work.
I love my Nikon camera (D70) because it allows me to take photos that were previously not possible with my old point and shoot! I feel like my photography is on a completely different level now.
The shots I take of food are now so much tastier looking!
I don’t have a Nikon ( have a lowly Canon point and shoot), but I would consider buying a Nikon DSLR because I trust it as a brand that has been making cameras since silver gelatin prints, black and white film, and throughout the history of the photograph.
They know what’s best for pictures :)
I love my Nikon camera because it lets me capture moments in time – a wife’s joy as her husband returns from war; the excitement of a child’s first steps; the ecstasy of scoring the winning goal; the instant before a wave destroys the sand castle.
And because on my camera, I have the shoulder strap from my dad’s old Nikon that he used when he was my age.
Wow. I cannot believe I found this. I saw your photo on food gawker and saw the giveaway below. It’s so funny because I am currently saving/ researching what slr to get. I’m a food blogger who is frustrated with her trusty cannon point and shoot, not because it doesn’t work well, but because I can’t get the shots with it that I envision in my head. I’ve recently learned about bokeh and now I’m fascinated with it. I’ve been looking at the exact same lense that you are giving away, but in Cannon. I’ve always used Cannon cameras, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about Nikon too. If I won, I guess that would determine which camera I would get. Thanks so much for the opportunity. Beautiful blog, beautiful food and photos! Cheers!
I love my Nikon camera because it takes pretty clear pictures. I don’t know much about lenses, but I bet a different lens would take amazing pictures!! They definitely look amazing!
I have a Canon, but sometimes I wish I had purchased a Nikon. I didn’t purchase one because the Nikon equivalent of my Canon DSLR was more expensive and considered not as good according to other sources. The more expensive Nikon models are another story, though. Anyway, thanks for this giveaway!
I adore my Nikon camera. It has documented my family growing up and the activities they love. My Nikon is durable enough to hand to a toddler or grandparent and get their perspective along with being simple enough for them to use. It also is easy to be creative and expand my photography.
Your blog is interesting and has some great information!!
Thanks!!
I love my Nikon because it’s so consistent, and with such great results inspires me to keep taking photos. I also love my Nikon because I have the same Nikon camera film and digital and can swap lenses. what isn’t to love about Nikon is the real question!! Your blog is beautiful!
i’d like to get a new camera for food photographs. But i dont know which one is the best.im using my sony cybershot dsc-t10 .but im not satisfied results.so i stopped take food photograhps.your giveaway will give me a refresh!best regards,Elif
Almost bought a Nikon – great design and usabilty. But Pentax made the race ;)
I just love how nikon just feel in a shooters hand. Other brands just do not feel so natural.
My Nikon D50 never leaves my side. It’s wonderfully sized, wonderfully worn in, and been through many things with me. I love how easy it is to navigate and everything involving my camera is ingrained in my being.
The first photo I ever took was on my dad’s Nikon, and I haven’t looked back since then.
My nikon just works… everytime. Colors are crisp, photos are flawless.
Love it!
I absolutely love my Nikon D5000. We initially bought it because I begged and cried and said I was tired of my little canon powershot. I wanted to be able to take pictures of my daughter running and jumping, dancing and twirling…all without the blur. I wanted the D5000 specifically because of the movable led screen. I liked the idea of being able to see myself when taking self portraits. Then when I got back into crafting, I started taking pictures of my works. Then when I started my journey of making foods from as many different countries as I could, I needed this camera in order to capture the beauty of the dishes and of course the failures. So when DH and I went to Best Buy to pick up this beauty, I was gleaming, smiling from ear to ear and ready to get home and start using it. Low and behold, the first thing I took a picture of was my daughter, jumping up and down in front of the tv…which was showing a cooking show at the moment. I just knew my Nikon and I would have a beautiful relationship!
I love your blog. I’ve bookmarked several recipes to try for my international food journey. I’m hoping to actually document my journey in a blog one day…I just keep getting sidetracked with all of the glorious food in the world and my crafting and my daughter…LOL.
I used a Nikon camera in my photo class, although I now own a Canon for personal use. The Nikon was beautiful and easy to handle even as a lower-end DSLR. Focusing and organizing my photos even on my camera was very easy and I was very pleased with the photo quality and vividness of the colors. The Nikon was essentially the first DSLR that I ever used. I was so happy to hold it in my hands and exercise the new freedom that a fantastic camera like that gave me. It was a great experience for a new photographer.
No chromatic aberrations with the Nikons!!! :-) It’s great not to see magenta around my shiny metal jewelry photos. We have a Nikon D90 which is a great tool for taking photos of my jewelry or kitchen creations. Your upside down nectarine cake looks fabulous by the way.
Many thanks for the recipe and giveaway.
Anna
I love my Nikon because it is built for the artist, and not for the computer-saavy user that likes to dig through menus to find settings. Buttons are where they are supposed to be, and it works the way I want it to, instead of making me adjust to work with it.
I love my Nikons. I just purchased my first digital and am loving it.
I love this lens! :D So creamy and buttery!
The Nikon is wonderful-crisp and color true. Plus, I love the sound of the shutter! :D
I love my Nikon D-40 because it lets me take great photos of my two beautiful girls. We’ve had it for almost three years now and have taken, literally, thousands of pics and we’ve only had to replace the lens, and that has only been once. We simply wore it out. I just had our second daughter on Father’s Day so I’m sure we’ll be taking thousands more!
Loving my first and only NIKON D3000 is like loving a second child for me. A present from my wife that I can’t afford to forget. I carried it where ever I want even though I know I wouldn’t have the time to snap a single picture. Although nasim wouldn’t prefer this model, still for me as a newbie I am thankful at lease having something is better then nothing. Not every people afford spending their little money to an expensive hobby like this. Now I could find the power to reveal to the richness and variety of the world that are second to none, not to be forget my dearest family. 3 months spending time with the NIKON D3000, I has notice not even taking pictures metter, photography has brings me to a new level of friendship via photographers mostly NIKON fans and non-photographers. I even get to discussed with a pro ( like nasim ) that mostly give me tips and motivation to step forward. Getting the NIKON lens giveaway from the mansurovs is a big bonus that I won’t miss it. Thanks nasim for giving this kind of opportunity, you made those NIKON fans their day, I just can’t fine this kind of bonus for other brand user yet. Thumbs up for a great afford.
I’ve never used a NIKON camera before, sadly I know. I would really like to have one because I heard so many good things about it. I have other type of camera and planing to buy a new one soon. This one would be nice :D
Crisp photos and good functionality of the camera (D700).
I don’t own a Nikon yet. still looking for a DSLR camera when I have enough budget. I think the lens is going to be a great kick when I buy a Nikon camera, later.. :)
I’m searching for a new camera right now! And yes, Nikon is one of my choises :) After all the great comment I read the decision may be easier than I thought ;)
I love my D700 mainly because it allows me to capture wonderful memories from my family and friends. And because of all its wheels and buttons. :-)
i’m the [somewhat] new owner of a Pentax DSLR camera and it’s wonderful. even after reading the entire handbook about all the functions, i’m still learning the ropes, hitting and missing as i go along. but that’s the best part, i think. it forces me to keep learning and to stay interested. i’ll take a photo and think: “wow, i really took that?” and then i’ll pop over to someone else’s blog and see a photo twenty times better — that inspires me evermore and i set back to work with my own camera. what could be better than that?! now a new lens, that’d surely give me a serious push!
cheers,
*heather*
What a great giveaway! That lens must be fun to use.
I love my NIKON camera because it takes wonderful shots with beautifully vivid colors!
Cheers,
Rosa
I love my Nikon. I got my D50 about four years ago, it was my first and only SLR camera. I was just starting as a photographer and that is still how I would describe myself but over the four years of using my D50 my skills have changed and my pictures have changed. I have gotten to know my camera better and through learning about my camera I have learned how to take better pictures. I have been able to find such a passion in photography. I go in and out of other hobbies but photography is the one that has always been there. My Nikon is the reason for that. I have been through so much with my camera, it has been beaten and worn and yet it is still with me today, working and taking the same great pictures as ever. Someone asked me once if I would ever consider getting a different camera, Canon or whatever, I know other cameras have their qualities but Nikon’s quality is just not something I would trade.

I love my Nikon D80 because it delivers crisp clarity in pictures that I can never achieve with my point and shoot camera. I love the weight of it in my hands and the clicking noise it makes whenever I shoot. Thank you so much for hosting such a generous giveaway!
Best,
Wendy
I love Nikon because they have provided a consistency in quality and compatibility over the years with products that are priced so that anyone can own enjoy the world of photography with a Nikon camera. I don’t believe there is any other photography company that can say the same. Lenses made 30 years ago can fit the camera of today. Can Minolta say that (Years ago I switched from Minolta to Nikon for this very reason)? Even Canon can’t sayEvery lens fits their cameras of today. Buy a Nikon lens and you are guaranteed to have a lens that will meet your expectations. Can after after market lenses promise that? I think Paul Simon says it for me, “Sunny days, oh yeah. I got a Nikon camera. I love to take a photograph, so mama please don’t take my Kodachrome away”. He didn’t use Canon or Pentax. He used Nikon.
I love my Nikon D50 because it has taught me so much. My D50 taught me that megapixels aren’t worth obsessing over. It taught me that the –feel– of the camera still matters most to me.
I love my D50 because after almost 7 years, it still creates “wow” images for my clients. My Nikon taught me that quality lasts.
After my education has blessed me with the ability to try out cameras from a 5D Mark II, to a D3x, to Sinar 4x5s…my Nikon is still my baby. My reliable source.
I love my Nikon because it inexplicably makes my heart beat faster just writing about it!
I love how “real” everything looks even without any additional processing. Sharp focus and great color quality!
I’ve been using point and shoot cameras over the past few years for just the basics and realized there was so much more I could do with a more robust camera.
So… yesterday, I purchased my first Nikon – a D90. The research I did kept pointing to this camera as being the one that met all of my needs. There was no real competition!
I haven’t had a chance to test out all the wonderful features, but checking out what you have on your site inspires me to learn as much as I can.
My Nikon D90 was a gift from my father for graduating from college. It was probably one of the best gifts I have ever received. I love it because not only is it an amazing camera (my first digital SLR…I had been doing film photography for many years before that), but also because it reminds me of my dad. Photography has been a hobby of his for decades, and if it weren’t for him, I may not see it in the same way. He introduced me to an art that is unlike any other in my eyes; my D90 is the perfect tool for capturing the world as I see it. I feel lucky to have such an amazing SLR, but even luckier to have such a wonderful dad who shared his love of photography and cameras with me.
I actually own a Fuji S5Pro camera, and I found it to be the best from 2 worlds:
- the best body/ergonomics/control from digital world (it has the Nikon D200 body)
- the best colors from film world.
And on top, I have acces to all Nikon accesories/lenses/equipment. This is why I love Nikon, they gave me the oportunity to have all this (of course, with a little help from Fuji side ;-) ).
All the best from Romania!
I absolutely love my Nikon. It’s simple and easy to use. I’ve had it for almost five years, and it’s documented the birth of my son and his life in stunning clarity and beauty. I wouldn’t dream of using anything else.
I love my Nikon D40! It takes great pictures. My daughter is constantly running off with it! I would love to have a micro lens!
I’m new in Nikon’s world, I bought my d40 for Xmas and I’m totally satisfied!!!She (eh eh!it would be reductive ;P ) makes great pics, is really manageable, light and makes exellent quality pictures expecially compared to Sony’s and Canon’s ones… respectively my boyfriend brother’s Sony and my sister’s boyfriend Canon!!!My Nikon does it better! ;D

PS: I’ll keep my finger crossed!!!
I had never owned anything but a point-and-shoot until this July 4th weekend. On a whim after a dinner conversation at some friends, I purchased a D90 after one full day of internet research (including your site). The Newegg deal you had posted cinched the deal for me.
I love the D90 and am amazed at how much creativity I was missing without it. Now all my friends who generally have a Rebel XSi or T1i are somewhat jealous, the D90 looks lightyears more advanced than those. I love the top LCD and the internal focus motor, which has allowed me to buy older lenses (e.g. Nikkor 50mm 1.8D) and still autofocus. The D90 has encouraged me to start taking lots of pictures of my family again, the number of pictures had naturally fallen off once the kids went past age 10. Now i am taking so may pictures that the kids are starting to complain but they are also learning about photography and hopefully will develop a love for DSLRs. I am sure that the kids who grew up around SLRs never buy point-and-shoots. I took the canera on our August cruise vacation and I captured some amazing shots and basically spent the time on the cruise testing various settings and trying things out.
Now I wonder what else am I missing in life that is reasonably affordable yet so much fulfilling.

It just works and grows on you.
Everthing is were it should be plus they last and last and last.
Love my Nikon
I have two nikon cameras, a cool pix and a D40x. i love them both.
my hubby is the research king in our family, and choose this brand for us, and he did a great job!
nikon is so easy to use, and i find it confusing to use menus on other cameras now!
I LOVE my nikon!
I love my wife. I love my dog. I loved your photo of apple pie so much I had to go find the recipe (and bookmark it). I don’t love my Nikon. My entire childhood I was fixated on the F3. I had a Sigma then a Pentax. They made wonderful photos (usually in someone else hands), but I just knew if I had a Nikon professional camera I could take pictures like a pro. Well I am older and cameras are digital, and I am enjoying my camera more than ever before, but I miss the feel of the focus ring. Has anyone actually felt the focus ring on the 18-200? My 50mm f1.8 is better, but it still doesn’t feel like I imagined, or the Pentax. And as for those professional photos I was supposed to be taking…
Anyway, I like my D300, and digital levels the playing field between professional and amateur in ways impossible during the film era. You old folks know what I mean. We can shoot all day and not worry about the cost of film and developing, and as for developing, any of you with darkroom experience can’t wipe the smile off of your face. Never mind publishing your work.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my inane thoughts. Good luck to everyone I hope you win the lens. That said, if I win, I accept.

Currently i do not own a nikon camera, but i recently had the chance to use my friend`s d80 and was completely hooked on it. At the moment i am looking into buying one for myself.
I love my Nikon camera because it has loved me back by providing me with a level of beauty and realism in my photographs that I simply could never achieve with another brand. It’s tough yet gentle, forgiving yet never shys away from the truth. It challenges me to think about why I’m taking the picture and rewards my patience with faultless imagery and the power to portray life just as I see it. I love my Nikon Camera because it has never let me down. I love my Nikon camera and it loves me.
I loved all my Nikons; from the D50 to the D80 to the D300. I think I love the feel and ergonomics of Nikon most of all; I also love that neither the cameras or lenses have ever let me down. I always come back with some quality shots. The name is legendary, Nikon means photography.
I am currently awaiting for a D700 w/ the 16-35 mm glass that you recommended so well. I can’t wait to use them! I know that I will love them most of all.
I love my Nikon D80 mostly because it feels so much like a film camera. I am 72 years old and yes, having something familiar is very important to me. I love to take pictures with my Nikon because it gives me so much joy to see how well it captures what I want to record. It is responsive and natural. It fits my hand like a camera should. When I give the camera to other people to use, I enjoy watching them respond to its feel as they try to utilize their own creativity in taking their picture. My Nikon gives me great pictures of my grandchildren and my travels. My grandkids are so use to me taking pictures of them that they very often ignore me, which is ideal. My Nikon allows me to be as creative as I wish and while I started taking pictures 60 years ago or so, I am still learning my Nikon. If I were lucky enough to win the prime 1.4 lens, I would give away my prime 1.8. Thanks for inviting me to think about and write this testimonial to Nikon.
I use a Nikon D200 with 18-200mm lens. I love Nikon. They are intuitive, easy-to-use cameras. I love the auto ISO feature, and how quickly I can adjust settings. The Nikon is the best camera designed by photographers, for photographers.
I would love to win your 50mm 1.4. I’m sure it would be much better for indoor photography than my 18-200mm. Thanks for having such a great blog, and for the contest. :)
For me, since I was a little boy and as long as I remember, if someone talks about excellent camera, first thing that pop up in my mind is Nikon. A few weeks ago, I bought a D5000 Nikon camera. The seller offered me a lot of options of other brands. My first consideration is the price . And I discovered that Nikon places the highest position of all. With a cheaper price, Nikon gives a better quality than any other brands which I found more expensive. I knew from the beginning that Nikon is the best camera ever, even in my subconscious mind. Let all of the people be happy with Nikon.
Ps. This my conclusion with Nikon “Nikon freeze real moments”
I was a lifelong Canon shooter who switched over to Nikon. My D700 is my go to camera for shooting stagecraft (plays, dance, concerts, etc) because of it’s amazing low-light capabilities. I plan on upgrading to a D3s in the near future and I could really use a fast 50mm.
Also, the Nikon Flash system works amazingly well and my D700 gets skin tones spot on, which my Canon pro gear never did.
Nikon gets the job done.
I love my D90…upgraded from a Sony point and shoot and there’s ab-so-lute-ly NO comparison. I’m having so much fun taking pictures now! I used to hate taking the pictures of my food…now I look forward to it. The only downside is that I work in, let’s just call it, ‘wonky’ lighting and a lot of my shots need to be shot at close range. I’m currently really limited with the lens that I have, so I’ve been drooling on the case, at my camera shop, at this very lens. I know that with the max aperture of f1.4 I can get a really fantastic shot and make my food look exactly like it should – great.
Thanks for the opportunity to upgrade my photography with this giveaway!
I would love to have a Nikon camera! I am in need!! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Hi guys!
Well, I’ve only picked up photography with a DSLR only a few months ago, and I carry it around with me whenever I can. It’s like the third arm that I never knew I had.
My family chose Nikon because we’ve been loyal users (we have 2 of their point-and-shoots), and are very impressed with the photo quality. The first one that we had is now 9 years old, and still works perfectly.
Switching to the D3000 was easy, as it was the best one out there for beginners (and really affordable too!)
People always said a picture is worth a thousand words, but I believe a high quality one is worth ten times more ;)
Oh, and I’ve voted for you guys btw ;)
I just love the way my Nikon can capture special moments in my life even if, at the time, I had not realized those moments would mean anything to me. My camera allows me to look back and reminisce in those priceless moments that have long past.
I don’t own a Nikon, but I’d love to give one as a gift… to my boyfriend! He loves photography, and is always finding new DSLR or vintage SLR cameras to desire… he always puts it back though!
My Nikons have always there for me. Reliability. Confidence. My first Nikon was a 1968 Nikkormat FTN! From film to digital, Nikon has been the constant, the foundation, the trusted extension of mind and eye. How can I not love my Nikon cameras?
I love my Nikon! When it came down to picking a DSLR I didnt even consider the others. I love the way it feels the way it shoots and how the images turn out!
I love my Nikkor Glass, I wont shoot with anything less :)
Life is a series of events from the playground with the grandkids to travel to far away places – my nikon camera & lenses gives me a picture book of memories . I love life, photography is part of my life. Why Nikon? It works for me.
My first SLR was NIKON. Nikon SLR opened my eyes to see the world differently. All the details that I never paid attention, now I look things closely and from different angles. Love my Nikon!
I love my Nikons because they are so well built and helps me captures the special moments in life. I once dropped my F100 on the ground and it servived! I’am now more careful with my D700.
I Love my Nikon because it always takes the picture I want. I can make very slight adjustments to the camera and the photos turn out the way I like them. I like to tell people who look at my pictures the high quality of the pictures is because I am a good photographer, but I give all the credit to my Nikon. It has made me a better photographer.
I love my Nikon because the day I held my first Nikon, I learned to see the world all over again through its eye.
I love my Nikon because its more than a tool, its a different view of the world
I had a point and shoot camera and it took some nice pictures. Recently I upgraded to a NIKON D90 DSLR. I was amazed by the difference. It’s like a rabbit and elephant. The pictures are so much crisp and clear, especially the once I take at a low light. I am still learning all the functions of the camera, and not to mention that this site help me so much on how to use it correctly. This site have provided so much information for the beginning photographer like myself. Now I am using the DSLR, I will never go back to a point and shoot camera for taking pictures. I am hoping to learn more and more every day. Thank you guys.
Why do I love my Nikon? It has become an extention of who I am, what I see and magnifies the moment and beauty of my shots to create professional looking photos from what I envisioned! There is no such thing as a “lucky shot” with a Nikon… every shot counts. I once asked a friend who had been in the photo industry for over 40 years what camera should I buy as I wanted to get into photography. He said no one can tell me that except myself! He took me to a local camera store and had me blind fold myself. He then handed me cameras and asked me which one feels right to me. He went through about 7 cameras and then started with the first again and asked which one feels balanced…. and so it went for about a dozen questions. After going through all that he handed me a camera and said this is the camera you chose with all but 2 of your answers. I removed the blindfold and beheld my D70 that I bought. I now have saved up and bought a D90 and I am trying to train my 11 & 13 year olds on the D70.
Nikon Camera for me is :
N= Neat —–> The design is incomparable
I = Irresistible —–> It is worth to buy
K = King of Camera —–> A Legend of Photography
O = Outstanding ——> Every picture testify it
N = Natural —–> Honest result in every pictures
Thank you
I’ve always love Nikon since the SLR film era. When I finally decide to return to DSLR after 12 years of PnS, the choice is still very certain. I’ve tried both Nikon and Canon, the build and advanced functions are just so much more and better in Nikon without having to go for the top-end or full frame body. Further more I love portraiture, and having the king in flash light systems made my photo taking so much more fun!
For it’s price range and flexibility, these are just a few of the reasons why I love my old D70s. In addition it’s a good step for a newcomer to photography like me. Lastly the accessories IMHO for the Nikon range plus 3rd party options don’t make that huge a dent in your wallet compared to other brands!
I’ve come to know Nikon from my hubby’s D90, and have been playing with it since the day he got it. The functions and features are so easy to use and understand. The quick buttons and menu are so user-friendly, even a beginner like me can pick up easily with a few try and error. I’m using the camera to shoot my 5 years old active son most of the time, cant wait to use it on my twin boys arriving next month!
My first photographs were taken with Minolta cameras. When I was ready to buy my first professional film camera my husband insisted that the Nikon N90 would be perfect for me and it was-the view finder alone was unquenchable! But then I had to break into digital which was exciting and disappointing at the same time. However, I found the Nikon menus to be flawlessly easy and the users manual to actually be USEFUL! I also appreciate the bang for the buck when it comes to buying professional quality in plastic cases!
I love my nikon d40..
I realized that I am photogenic !( Thanks to ma hubby who keeps on pestering me to become his model !! ) It is the first DSLR I ever touched.. it is very easy to operate.. Now I am trying to learn the trick with ma hubby ( He is also a newbie to photography).
D40 has become our third eye! We carry it where ever we go..we started seeing the world differently.. Some how we feel Nikon is THE BEST ! and slowly started feeling NAS!! Started saving money to buy a zoom lens (70-300 or 55-300) .. Waiting for ur detailed analysis on 55-300 !
Sithara Vivek.
I’d been flipflopping from Canon to Nikon and back to Canon for over a month now since I sold off my EP-1 kit. Also, because of Photokina in September and all the impending announcements from the big boys, I’ve held off buying a dSLR, but today, everything seemed to fall into place.
My girlfriend decided to get a 550D for herself, I saw a really good used D300 for sale online and I happened to come back to your blog(after quite some time. heh!) and see this competition!
My girlfriend buying Canon made me decide to buy Nikon, just like how you and Lola operate, what is canon is hers, what is Nikon is mine! I’ve been looking for a good weather sealed camera to bring with me to Uni as well as a trip to Nepal next year, and the 7D is just way over my budget.
Finally though, Canon’s decision to downgrade their xxD line to make it more like a Rebel was the tipping point. Because it seemed to me that instead of building a better camera for their customers, they were more focused on earning our money.
Nikon, I realised, builds cameras for their customers, they never really bothered about what Canon was doing, and I’m in this for the long run, so I want a company who has the customer in mind instead of the bottom line.
Oh and the d300 came without a lens, so this 50mm would really be an awesome first lens! =D Thanks!
I’m a student at the Art High-School,and I’m 14 years old,but I don’t belive that I’m too young for using my Digital SLR camera,or falling in love to hard with my Nikon, which is Nikon D90.I’ve found my passion, beyond anything else which means art.
When I’m holding the Nikon D90,it’s like I immerse in a whole new world, full of surprizes.Inside of me,a wish of knowledge is berserk.
I’m trying to capture not just a piece of world into the camera, but the whole universe which is surrounding us.
I’m opening my eyes and see all the greatness of the world in detail,in another light.
I like taking pictures in difficult situations…for example, this summer,I’ve been taking pictures in a speed boat,I actuallly took 119 photos in 5-7 minutes, while my parents were parasailing…And the result was great!
The Nikon D90 is a wonderfull Digital SLR!It gives everyone the flexibility of taking great shots!
I LOVE NIKON!!!
Kind regards,
Miruna
P.S.:I voted for you…
I voted for u ..
I have only used Nikon since the film days, and now I’m very happy with my Nikon DSLR. I like the build and quality. The ergonomics are well thought out and quite user friendly. The pictures are simply fantastic and helps me capture the special moments in life. Nikon is simple the the best.
Photography, Nikon and Me
God’s nature, full of unlimited beauty
So naked and so bare, but seldom do we see
To open the curtain of diety
To reveal and disclose the hidden mystery
Is what photography should be
Even to see from the eyes of the bee
For us to admire in envy
And yes, Nikon is here to stand by me
To make all these dreams becoming reality
Capturing such mesmerizing beauty, so deeply
And make those moments become eternity
That the next generation can too see
With its great comprehension and technology
Burning my passion and me
Up to the edgeless of possibility
Thus, the nature will speak perfectly
And for sure,
Nikon will always be with me
Aprison, please see this post, select a book of choice and send me your address.
Congratulations and thank you for participating!
Thank you Mansurov, nothing can make me happier but reading your announcement.
I’d love to have Bryan Peterson’s Understanding Exposure, 3rd Edition as a gift of friendship from you.
I love my nikon because NOW I can share my eye with the rest of the world.
In 1970 while picking out my first good camera, I struggled with the Canon vs. Nikon issue. I settled on a Canon FTB and through those lenses I fell in love with photography. As my skills improved I focused on nature, people, buildings and a few weddings. The camera was an extension of me and rarely did you see me without my camera. That camera traveled the country and went through two marriages and two kids. Some where along the way as my marriage deteriorated, so did the time I spend taking pictures. Twelve years ago, I divorced and because of high child support payments, I went into survival mood, only affording the necessities. One day I bought a Sony H5 and started to take pictures again. My love of photography returned and I shared a lot of my pictures. My friend Dave, who is a professional photographer, saw my pictures and was surprised I was taking quality pictures with a camera that had so many limitations. We shot a sporting event my daughter was in and compared the pictures. Comparing my pictures to what Nikon cameras with zoom lenses, there was no comparison. I knew I had to up grade. 40 years later I know exactly what I want. I am happy to tell you that today I purchased a Nikon 5000 body with no lens. I love my Nikon camera even though I have never taken a picture with it. I know my talent and the camera’s abilities but most of all the excitement I had at sixteen has returned. I can not wait to start taking pictures and sharing the results with the world.
I don’t own a Nikon, but I have used my brother’s and I love its ability to pristinely capture the special moments in life. : )
My first is a Nikon FE2 that is built like a tank and can operate without batteries, but I love my D300s more: great ergonomics (all the key buttons at my finger tips) and workflow. My favorite functions are multiple exposures to combine into one image and bracketing 3, 5, 7 or 9 exposures for HDR.
I purchased my Nikon D5000 with the hopes of taking great photo’s. It set in its box unused for nearly six months, like many of ones possessions. I had the best intentions, but never took the time to pursue what I thought would give me an outlet to a quite dysfunctional life. After ending a relationship of almost 15 years, and having to start my life all over, I finally picked my Nikon up… I have not put it down since. It opened a whole new world for me. I finally started seeing the beauty not only in things around me,but also in myself. It has been a lot of trial and errors and a continuos learning experience. It has taught me the camera does not take the perfect photo, it is the person behind the lens. I love my camera!! It has given me a outlet to find a place i can relax, and express my creative side, a feeling of inner peace and happiness while doing so. Needless to say I am no longer afraid of my camera and it has gotten alot of use!!!
