I won’t go too much into what Death Valley is, since you can read all about it right here. This was my first time in Death Valley and I absolutely loved it! It was only a single day trip, but definitely a full and busy one :)
I got there late at night and stayed at the Amargosa Opera House in Death Valley Junction, which is also a hotel. Man, the place was spooky!
The hallway was scary and I was hoping not to see a ghost of some kind in there…
My room was #10, right next to the empty frame. Don’t know what the story is behind the people in the pictures, but it looked like they were generations of people who owned the place. I’m assuming that they reserved the empty frame for the next in line…
After sleeping only for a couple of hours, I got out of the place at around 4:30 AM and I’m glad I did! I don’t know if I would stay there again, although the room and the sheets were clean.
In about 30-45 minutes, I arrived to Zabriskie Point, where I was planning to photograph the sunrise. I’m glad that I started there, because I got some really nice panoramic shots of Zabriskie Point:
And some regular shots:
After which, we headed out to Badwater.
I was hoping for some white salt, but instead got this:
Afterwards, I found out that the surface changes throughout the year and it was like this because of the hot summer. Anyway, I still looked around and found a nice spot with some water:
The rest of the story will be in Part 2 tomorrow, so stay tuned!

That scene is awesome! Boom boom boom with beautiful music :)
Can you imagine if they shot those scenes with the current super high speed cameras?
