Hi! I saw a compact flock of Cedar Waxwings in Colorado Springs on Sunday March 18th! Too bad I wasn’t fast enough on the draw to grab my camera, but the male above was almost like the one I saw. Smiles. There were at least 10 or 12 of them, some females and juveniles too.
Nice! I wonder if they are migrating right now…will need to go and check some spots sooner than later!
I definitely had the impression of migration, since the wind almost blew them off the treetops. We live in Old Colorado City, near Hwy. 24 and Garden of the Gods. Western Birds map indicates South Dakota and Idaho in spring.
