How to Photograph Corporate Portraits

I have been getting many requests lately to write an article on corporate portrait photography, after my last corporate event photography tips article that I wrote a few weeks ago. Photographing employees for corporate websites and magazine articles is very different from corporate event photography - it is similar to photographing a portrait in a professional studio. Obviously, the atmosphere is different, lighting is different and the gear you use is also very different. You must be equipped with portable lighting equipment that you can assemble and disassemble in minutes. In this article, I will go through the different types of corporate portrait photography and what you can do to get the best possible results with the least amount of money spent on gear and lighting equipment.

StudioWed Denver Grand Opening Soiree

Along with many wedding professionals of Colorado, I was invited to witness the grand opening of the new and fabulous StudioWed Denver. I simply couldn't pass this wonderful opportunity to participate in this event and get to know wedding professionals of Denver during this event. The studio is hip, stylish and very cozy. I am sure every bride who enters the premises of StudioWed will find comfort and assurance that their special day is in the safe hands of true professionals. Debbie and her team did an outstanding job creating such a warm atmosphere. Kudos to you guys!

Below are some of the images I took last night. I love this table setting and the floral design!

Halloween Fun

A couple of days ago, we thought about taking pictures of people on Halloween. We first decided to go to Denver downtown, but then changed our mind and decided to check out the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder instead. I'm glad that we picked Boulder, because people were awesome, their costumes were very creative and funny and above all - we had a lot of fun!!!

We started out by taking pictures of families with kids:

My vision of Snowmass, Aspen and Crested Butte

Recently my husband posted some pictures from our trip to Crested Butte. I decided to follow his footsteps and document my perspective of a couple of days that we spent on the road.

Jack: Portraits

We photographed Jack a little more than a week ago. His mother wanted to get a picture of him before he gets his black belt early next year.

Group Portrait: Rocky Mountain Rollergirls

Like I've said before, we having been shooting all kinds of events lately. This group shot was for the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls. Although we completely failed the photo shoot by leaving flashes at home (we were too tired form the previous day wedding and I messed up with packing the equipment), this image came out all right. We used ambient light coming in from the gate as the main front light and there was some back light coming from two windows of the warehouse. It was disappointing to work in such conditions and our motivation went down the drain, but we had to work with what we had and they desperately needed pictures...

Jade: Portraits

Meet Jade! This fabulous young lady is an outstanding dancer with a bright future. Her character, charisma and her charm definitely compliment her name. Aside from being a dancer, I think Jade can be a very good model. Just look at her adorable face and her fantastic smile!

We are currently working on Jade's composition cards for a talent agency. Between head shots and agency guidelines, we did find some time to have fun with the light and get creative.

Isadora: Portrait

The below photo is from our portrait shoot last weekend:

Isadora

The lovely young lady's name is Isadora and she is extremely cute and super energetic. Don't you just love the name? :) Although we were photographing her sister, she didn't mind joining and posing for us. Hopefully we will get more of her photos next time!
