American Pika Posing

This guy decided to pose for me while I was taking his picture :)

American Pika

American Pika is a very cute animal that lives very high up in the mountains. It loves cold weather and cannot stand warm temperatures. Apparently, it dies within one hour if the outside temperature reaches above 23°C (75°F). I snapped the following pictures of American Pika in the Rocky Mountain National Park:

Snowman in August

Yes, there is snow even in August, high up in the mountains of the beautiful Colorado…

RMNP – River

Too bad that I don’t have a neutral density filter yet. Need to get one to get the water blurred.

Sunset through water

Took this picture of a fountain during the sunset the other day:

What a Photo Walk!

What a great Photo Walk it was! Thanks to all who participated in the Boulder Photo Walk! Despite the hot weather, rain and high humidity, it was a great event and our group already decided that we will definitely do it again. We had a lot of fun, learned from each other and shared wonderful photography stories at the end of the day. Looks like Scott Kelby already announced this Photo Walk as the first annual event, which means there will be Photo Walks taking place every year!

The Boulder Photo Walk Flickr page already has some photos and I am waiting for a lot more to come sometime tomorrow.

Here are some of mine:

Yikes!

Yikes! I was driving to a park with my son and saw a couple of turkey vultures flying around something in the field. I stopped my vehicle and looked – one of the turkey vultures landed and started eating a dead fox. Looks like the fox was killed the previous night by either a coyote or a mountain lion, since the entire back side of the fox was already eaten. I snapped about 30 pics of this horrid scene with all kinds of visuals that you do not want to see…

Rocky Mountain National Park Rewards

A trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park can be quite rewarding. I’m having a hard time choosing my favorites, since so many photos came out to be so good.

Here is a panorama of the Cub Lake that I stitched from several photos:

Same spot, except this time the sun came out and lit the mountains:
