This is absolutely crazy! A guy in Fort Collins, CO made a custom balloon, put his 6 year old into it and let it slip into the air. With the current winds of 15-20 miles per hour, the boy is almost in Denver and they are now saying that he might go all the way to Denver International Airport.
If this boy survives, it will be a miracle. Either way, his father is in a lot of trouble…poor boy, idiot father!

UPDATE: The balloon crashed and there is nobody inside. The door was open, which means that the boy either jumped out, or fell out of the balloon…
UPDATE2: The whole thing was made up “for the show“. Seriously, the government should arrest this man for putting up a show like this.

can’t we give a room for any doubt to this family? I know, they have a very extensive reality tv, and media-hunger history. Plus today i saw a short video fragment that was aired on CNN that was taken by someone in this family. The video shows the father and the mom just seconds before the “air saucer” took off. It looks very fishy, at least.
I must be a very naive person, because despite everything I still want to believe that those people maybe did plan something, but things took a wrong turn and they did really think that the child was in the air.
Jamila, watch the video link above under “Update 3″ and take a look at the father’s reaction when the boy says “it was for the show”. He started talking about something completely different and tried to twist the story, which he really failed at. I believe that the whole thing was done just to get a headline on national news, which worked well and they got what they wanted. Now everybody knows about this guy as the “mad scientist”.
Anyway, I think that the government should charge him for all the resources that were involved in the process.
If this whole thing was just a hoax, then those people are freaken idiots. Imagine all the resources they threw into this rescue operation? I heard they had to cancel all the flights at denver international. That’s a huge freaken deal.
And, on the other hand, there are thousands of families who have really lost their children and never got a chance to be heard on national television. That would make the whole thing even more cruel, imo.
I agree, that’s why they should find a way to punish him to show that you cannot BS everyone just to get popular.
