The last couple of months have been crazy and I have been traveling a lot, which is the reason why I have not been able to add fresh content to the site more often. The last two weeks, in particular, were exhausting and I am finally home – that’s after 6,000 miles of driving across the Western USA. Started out in Yellowstone, then went north to Glacier, then visited both Olympic and Mount Rainier in Washington, then ended up in Yosemite and Mono Lake. The purpose of the trip was to photograph landscapes and wildlife, while having a relaxing time with the nature – so it was more of a vacation than a photo shoot. I scouted for new locations and spots, and took the time to explore new places that I have never visited before, so it was a great learning experience. I had the Nikon D5100 with me all along, so another camera review will be posted soon, hopefully by the end of this week. A comprehensive 50mm test with lots of comparisons is also coming up.
Aside from loss of some photographs (more on that on the next post), the trip was great. During the next few weeks I will be working on the images from this and other trips earlier this year and post some images, along with some tips, as usual. Here is one of the images from the trip:

Great photo Nasim! Welcome home, I look forward to more pics. I trust the trip was wonderful.
Thank you Tom! Yes, the trip was indeed wonderful, but I managed to lose the first half of the trip (lost a 16GB CF card due to my stupidity).
Hi Nasim,
I’d love to follow your step to Yellowstone.
And Sadly to hear of the misplaced 16GB CF..:(
Angie, Yellowstone was beautiful, but Glacier was even better! I am still hoping that someone will find my CF card and get in touch with me…we’ll see :)
It’s my dream to travel as you have and scout out new places to capture scenes. There is much in the area where I live Blind River ON, Canada but I make the most out of it and with only so many scenes avaialble I rely on changes in nature to change the scenes snow, fall colours, night scenes, etc. Truly amazing capture Nasim thanks for sharing and welcome back from your trip. Hope your CF card shows up soon I want to see more photos! :)
James, Canada is my next dream location to see and photograph. I really wanted to go to Banff area during this trip, but my passport was not ready, so I had to skip it and travel to Washington & California instead… Canada is a beautiful country!
More photos will be posted later this week :) Have a wonderful day!
Hi ! Just wanted to say I love your blog-discovered it after a search for alcohol-free tiramisu led me to it! :) I am currently working on a cookbook/oral history of the cuisine of the Gaza Strip-my colleague and I spent last summer photographing women and food there using our Nikon D5000 and D90…we have an article coming up in Saudi Aramco World magazine! Would love your input!
Thanks, amazing work you do!
Laila

Hi! I also wanted to ask you – have you ever thought of photography on a trip to India?
Gautham, yes, it is my dream to visit India! Especially the National park with tigers and Taj Mahal…so many great opportunities there.
Great to know that!!!
