About Us

Our story begins with our Love in April of 2006, when we first met in Orlando, Florida. We fell in love with each other at first sight and decided to get married in May of 2006. Our first son, Omar, was born in February of 2007 and we were blessed to have another son, Osman, in June of 2008.

Nasim Mansurov

Nasim MansurovMy parents always believed in preserving memories. We had a family album in a large case, where they saved hundreds of photographs from our childhood. Every once in a while, we would sit altogether, going through the photographs, remembering our early childhood, overseas travel and other family events. This quickly became our family tradition and we would anxiously wait for the moment, typically at the end of the year, to get together and view our photographs.

I always wanted to do the same for my kids, so when our son Omar was born, I realized that I had to spend time to understand and learn how to take good pictures of my family. I finally made a decision and bought my first DSLR – a Nikon D80 with a kit zoom lens in the spring of 2007. But learning photography did not turn out to be easy. I spent countless hours reading books and online articles, trying to understand the camera and learn how to get better results. I have been learning ever since.

Today, photography is my passion. I take all kinds of pictures…from Nature, Wildlife and Birds, to Portraits and Weddings – I enjoy it all. I also like to share my knowledge. I do not want others to go through the same pain of learning as I did and I want to help everyone get better at photography. Which is why I write as much as I can on this blog and do my best to help my readers. Photography should be accessible for everyone, because we all deserve to know how to preserve our cherished moments.

But all of my life’s achievements are meaningless without my family – I’m truly blessed to have Lola and my two sons. They are the best thing that ever happened to me – they are the meaning of my life, the reason for my existence. I’m also blessed to have my parents, my sister, my little brother and my in-laws, whom all I love dearly.

Lola Mansurov

Lola MansurovI dreamt about photography since I was little. I was probably about 10 when my uncle bought a Russian film camera “Zenit” for my brother. Witnessing the whole process of how he passionately used to take pictures and later develop them in black and white was mesmerizing. Although I was very young, he would let me sit in the lab he created for himself in the far back corner of our house. That red fluorescent light in a very dark room with all the powders and little buckets of chemicals is still a big chunk of my photographic memory. He often would let me hold the camera and take some pictures on my own. My brother moved on to different hobbies but the images he created still remain in our family album.

When I went to school to study journalism and saw the work of amazing photographers, when I first watched Julia Roberts in “Closer” or when I read about Annie Leibovitz, I knew that photography was something I really wanted to do. So, when Nasim told me that he wanted to get a DSLR, I fully supported him, because I knew it was the tool to pursue my dream. As soon as the camera arrived, I opened the box and started playing with the camera. Nasim saw my excitement and left it all up to me. But soon after, I realized that I would not be able to spend much time on photography. Taking care of Omar was not easy and with the birth of our second son Osman, things got even tougher to manage at home, let alone take pictures. I felt bad for labeling my passion as low priority. One day, I promised myself that I will do whatever it takes to take my skills to the professional level and fulfill my dream.

Since then, I have been spending much time learning about photography, doing a lot of reading online and learning from my tutor, my technical guru and the love of my life, Nasim. He has been of great support and he constantly reminds me to move forward and push my skills to the limit. With his knowledge and my vision, we have been creating some memorable and amazing work for all our clients and friends. I put my heart and my soul into our work, because it is my dream and my passion.
